I jumped a bit as did Rynn at the sound of my phone vibrating on my bedroom floor. On the screen was Lukas’ name.
I snatched it up before Rynn could see it. Oh gosh, I don’t know if this phone call is a blessing or a curse. Was Rynn going to kiss me?
“You better answer it. I’m going to call Roberta.” Rynn stood and walked away, slowly shutting the door behind him.
I must look like a ridiculous idiot right now.
“Hello?” Wow…I sound enthusiastic.
“Hey. You ready? I’m at the mall and I’m pretty sure I see your friend waving at me.” I could hear the smile in his voice.
“Oh…I’m just…finding some shoes to wear. I’ll be there soon.” I hung up, threw off my shirt, yanked on a comfy loose knit sweater and knee high casual pencil skirt with some black flats to go with it. I’m keeping my hair down because I always feel a little weird with it up.
Number one rule for a date is to be comfortable.
“Tori? You going out now?” My mom asked through the door.
“Yup!” I slid some dangly earrings through my pierced lobes and opened the door after grabbing a black purse with a long thin chained strap.
“Oh, very nice! Say hi to Lukas for me ok? And have fun?” She winked at me as I scurried down the stairs to see Rynn tightening the laces on his black boots he tucked his skinny jeans into.
“Ready?” He looked me over as his long pale arm extended to grab a black large vest type jacket with leather long sleeves attached. Interesting style, but it suits him.
"Yeah." We both strolled out the door leaving mom by herself to enjoy whatever drama she was watching. Lately it's some weird teen show called, "Collide".
"Ahhh! The sky is so clear and the sun is so free!" I giggled and stretched as Rynn locked the door behind us.
He squinted his large eyes and put his hands in his pockets after walking up behind me. His lips were upturned in the corner! He was smiling!?
"Roberta mentioned a place, but I don't know where we're going." He sighed.
"Oh! Uh...the mall. It's just a few blocks down from-"
"Why are you giving me directions?" Rynn looked down at me. Gosh why does he have to be so beautiful? He's like a model. "You'll take me there won't you?" He slightly frowned, putting me on the spot.
"Take you there?!"
Rynn's fingers found my cheeks and he pulled them away from my face making my mouth stretch and my eyes water.
"You don't seriously expect me to walk on my own do you? I'm not an idiot, but that doesn't mean I'm going to waste time avoiding us being seen together. Let Roberta think what she wants...unless, Lukas is the one you're afraid of upsetting." Rynn let me go.
