How Dare You

I always thought what we had was real
From the moment he touched my lips with his fingertips and he took that chance to seal the deal.

When he caressed my back with his gentle touch, while kissing me brought me such a rush.

The months after when we were still together, did he know his feelings didn't reciprocate?
When he leaned down on me, his body as light as a feather. Did he know soon after when it was too late?

What a shame. I had given myself away, dealt with the pain of you not feeling the same.

I have never felt so stupid, embarrassed by you. Why did you do this when you knew it wasn't true?
HOW DARE YOU.

I would have given you everything you've ever wanted and more. I would've done anything to make you smile.
But you left me on the floor, crying and weeping as I laid there for a while.

I soon realized that this wasn't worth it, shedding my tears over what we had.
Men like you don't deserve it.
What you did will never be forgotten, I am forever sad.

I will let this be a lesson for the next time around, for you have ruined me.
What once I had lost will never be found.
