Remember

I want you to remember me.

Don't remember me by my body. How it was shaped like a hourglass. Remember the way it felt up against yours when we would cuddle throughout the night.

Don't remember me by my lips but by the voice that came through it. How I would sing in the car at the top of my lungs.

Don't remember the times my eyes were glassy, remember the way they shined brighter than any star.

Forget all the times my hair was perfectly done and remember how it looked in a bun. I wasnt afraid of what you would think, for I knew you loved me no matter how I looked.

Remember the good things about me.

Remember the way I danced in the kitchen when our favorite song played on the radio

Remember my laugh, how it echoed through your ears sounding like soulful music.

Most importantly, remember me for me. My personality would glow in the dark so you could always find your way home.

I want to to remember who I was when I was with you.

Because I will remember your smile, how your lips curved up only for me.

I'll remember the way you looked at me, like I was your one and only.

How your eyes and my eyes would meet and I suddenly knew you would always be mine.

I will remember your hands. The way they held my own with such comfort.

You were beautiful, darling.

You could be standing in a crowded room but my eyes would always find you.

You amazed me everyday and i loved you for that.

I loved you for how you could always brighten my day when I came home devastated.

I knew you loved me and I know that you know that I will always love you.

You loved me enough to let me go so I went. I went away because that was your request. You were afraid and hurt and I get that.

That is why I will always be here. I will wait for you because darling, you are so worth the wait.

Even if it takes a while, a month, or a few years; I will be here.
