three weeks went by
and not once did i leave
your sidei went to class, went to work
spent my breaks and nights
with you helping me with
assignments and watching
all your favorite showsshows that not once
seemed to capture my attention
my eyes solely focused on
your reactions of it all
how your legs would bob
when you grew antsy and
anxious with what was to comehow your eyes would widen,
the corners of your eyes crinkling
fore how excited you were growing
your hand would find my
shoulder or knee and you'd
tap me in an anticipating
beat, repeating"watch this watch this"
only to peer away from the
screen to now watch my
expression and see if i'd
react just the same –which i always did
