we spent each night until the next
morning getting to know one another
in between binge watching our
favorite shows and lounges on the
porch while you smoked on cigarettes.
you spoke of your parents and your
past experiences, opening yourself up to me
you said you were a lock but i had the key
and in that moment i hoped you were
beginning to feel the same emotions as me.
