It had been a month.

Mom had yelled at me like there was no tomorrow. Apparently, both her mom and mine had decided a punishment for us both. It was only for a week with no Internet or television or contact with each other, Calum or Chloe.

We hadn't been to clubs since. Or ran into creeps that hit on your girlfriend. The past month had been the most uninteresting month in my entire life.

Chloe's birthday was coming up. Everyone had kept quiet about it, since we were throwing her a surprise party. We liked to think she hasn't suspected a thing.

"So what are we doing this Saturday?" Chloe asked us, as we sat in the food court of the mall. Calum was coming back with a tray of pizzas and sodas.

"I have to start packing" Zoe said.

"I gotta look for a job." I replied, grabbing soda from the tray.

"Oh" Chloe said sounding disappointed.

"Why, did you have something in mind?" Calum asked her.

We head kept the secret of the surprise party for almost a week. Zoe and I usually got together to plan it out. Which didn't work out well because I usually got distracted and left her to do all the work. When I noticed what I did I usually tried to distract her as well. Chloe shook her head and started down at her paper plate. The lies weren't all lies. Zoe had to start packing for her trip to Washington. I had to get a job. And Calum was probably gonna be doing nothing anyway.

"How long are you gonna be away for Zoe?" Calum asked her.

"Two weeks"

"That's two weeks too long" I wrapped my hand in hers.

"I wish you could come" She said, I placed a kiss on her lips.

"Are you guys gonna eat your pizza or each other?" Chloe rolled her eyes.

Zoe's cheeks turned pink as she let go on my hand and took a bite of her pizza. She left in five days. What was I supposed to do without her? After our punishment, all we had done was spent most night tangled up in each others arms. Her parents weren't too fond of the thought of us sleeping in the same bed. I don't think my mom noticed. I took a bite out of the pizza. Chloe had gotten up to wait in line for a refill.

"So are you going to ask her out?" Zoe asked in between bites.

"Why would I do that?" Calum responded.

"Because you two are madly in love with each other" She teased. Calum stayed silent.

After the food courts we hit up some stores. For me and Calum, that meant a lot of waiting around outside the fitting rooms, or searching the racks for the right size pair of jeans for Chloe and Zoe. Then there was a lot of complaining from both of them. They spoke to each other through the doors of the room. Not many people went to the town mall so they were the only ones in the fitting rooms. At some point Zoe decided to start picking clothe out for me.

"Don't you already have a shirt like that" She placed he hands on her hips as I showed her an Avengers shirt.

"This is a different color" I said. She sighed, and small smile creeping on her face. Without a word she handed me a gray shirt, a black one, a flannel, and two pair of black skinny jeans. One with holes the other one without.

Zoe sat in the one and only chair there was outside the men's fitting rooms. I pulled off my t-shirt and tried on the gray shirt first.

"Do you want to see how they look?" I asked as I slipped on the jeans with the holes.
