•Zoë's POV•

We decided to go to Steak and Shake. Which was one of Luke's favourite restaurants. But they didn't know. And I know if Ashton knew he would flip. Because he just loathes Luke for no apparent reason. And that boils my blood.

We pulled into the parking lot, and headed inside the 30s styled restaurant. At least I think it was the 30s. Chloe, Calum and Ashton joins us inside as we waited to be seated.

"How many?" A short lady in her mid 30s asked us, ready to pull out enough menus.

"Five" I answered her.

"Ok, follow me" She lead us to a booth in the back, near the windows that over looked the KCF next door.

Me and Luke sat on one side while the other three sat on the other. Luke once again put his arm around my shoulders, causing Ashton to stiffen.

The lady set us up and pulled out a pad and a pen.

"What would you like to start off with?" She asked.

I ordered a Cookies and Cream milkshake, and Luke an chocolate fudge one. The others also got milkshakes, Calum and Chloe both got a butterfinger one and Ashton a strawberry one.

"So are you all going to UCF?" Luke asked, not being so nervous to talk to them anymore.

"Yeah," Chloe was the one to actually answer, "Is it like, I don't know... fun?"

Luke laughed, "Schools never fun but the campus life is"

I still didn't like UCF, but I had to deal with it.

"You'll like it" Luke whispered in my ear, noticing my mood. I finally decided to look at the menu. I decided to get a burger which was really the only thing they had to offer.

"I'm gonna go wash my hands" I said. Luke took his arm off around my shoulders, giving me access to get up. I managed to get around the maze of the tables towards the bathroom. As I turn on the sink a familiar face appears coming out of the stall.

I turn around to see my mom coming towards the sink next to me.

"You didn't notice your own daughter, what kind of mother are you" I laughed.

"Oh my god honey what are you doing here?" she laughed.

"Well I'm eating, currently washing my hands. Did you and dad get out early?"

"Yeah, we're just getting something to eat then were gonna be home till they call us back" She says and I nod.

"So who are you here with?" She asks, over the loud noise of me drying my hands.

"The usual people, and this guy" I tell her.

She raises her eyebrow, "a guy?"

"A guy" I repeat.

"Do I know this guy?" She asks.

"Nope" I shake my head.

"Do this guy have name?"

"It's Luke, if you wanna meet this guy, you can stop by at the table and say hey then you'll see him" I offered.

She nodded, we both walked out of the bathroom an I led her towards our booth. I pray that they didn't beat each other to death while I took a short trip to the bathroom.

"Hey guys just wanted to say hi, see how you all were doing" My mom smiled the 3 familiar faces. They all waved hi to her.

"Mom, this is Luke" I showed her.

"Hi, nice to meet you" he shook her hand. She took in every but if Luke. A look of disapproval passed her face for a small second.

"Nice to meet you too" the excitement in her voice was gone.

"Sweetie I'm sure your father would like to talk to you about something"

And that's when I could tell something was wrong. My dad barley lectured me, it was usually my mom. But they didn't need to because I rarely made the wrong choice.

Around them...

We both sat down at the table, Dad has gotten up to take a call. As he exited out the door I got comfortable in my seat. Afraid that I would be here a while.

"Luke is something"

I nodded, not knowing where she was going with this.

"But, I don't want him near you"

"W-what" I stuttered.

"You heard me, I don't want him near you, or vise-versa"

"Why?!"

"You saw the tattoos and piercings on him, that type of person shouldn't be around someone like you, he might pressure you to do something, or pull something on you"

"Just because he looks that way doesn't mean anything!" I raised my voice.

"I've seen guys like this and most of them are like that" she said.

"You know what mom? I can tell wrong from right, and I can surely take care of myself, since you've barely been around" I said very rudely, and I know somehow it hurt her, but I didn't mean to. And I couldn't just take it back now, since I was already making my way back to our booth.

I plopped down on the booth.

"What's wrong?" Chloe asked, our milkshakes arrived the moment I sat down. I needed something to drown the feeling, and this would surely help.

"It's nothing to worry about, really" I said moving the spoon in the drink.

I took a sip of the drink. Shortly afterwards our meals arrived.

"Why don't you put ketchup on it?" Luke said. Positioning the ketchup bottle right above, my fries.

"Oh she doesn't like ketchup" Ashton answered, before I could answer for myself.

"I could answer for myself you know?"

"I know I was just-" he began but didn't continue.

I took a small bite out of my French fry. I regretted getting it, knowing I would be regretting eating it soon afterwards. Also because I didn't want Luke to think I ate a lot, then he'd see me as fat...

It was a big dilemma.

For me.

"Aren't you gonna eat?" Luke asked, I noticed I had been staring off at the hamburger.

"Oh yeah" I chuckled, embarrassed.

I took a bite out of it. Nobody noticed, as they continued eating. Calum and Chloe were having own little conversation.

A group of rowdy kids entered the restaurant. I looked back like a lot of people had to see who was causing all the commotion. They were either just really loud and excited, or drunk. The annoyed waitress led them to their table.

Which was luckily right behind ours. Two of them sat on one side and three on the other.

"Oh my god" I gasped, when I took a good at who the two were.

"What? What's wrong?" Ashton quickly asked.

I gaped at Brock and Carol, who were both drunk and sitting where I could see them and they could see me. Hopefully they wouldn't or something would for sure happen tonight.

Or maybe not.
