Crap. You took a makeup cloth and wiped the corner of your eye. You had just smudged your eyeliner. Again. You knew that you had to get it perfect, since you and the boys were hunting a vampire at a party tonight. He had been taking girls home from parties and killing them, so you were going to find him and get him alone so the three of you could gank him.
“Come on (y/n)! We don’t have all night!” Dean shouted as he pounded on the door.
“Just a second Dean!” you responded.
You took one last look at yourself in the mirror, and decided that your makeup was good enough. You adjusted your short, red cocktail dress, slipped on your heels and stepped out of the bathroom. You walked into the main room where Dean stood waiting with his back turned to you.
“Where’s Sam?” you asked as you stepped into the room.
“He’s just outs…whoa (y/n)”
“What?” you asked worriedly. “Did I get some eyeliner on my cheek or something?”
“No, no. Nothing like that it’s just that you look b-” Dean walked toward you with a strange look on his face. Unfortunately, since he was looking at you, he didn’t notice the coffee table directly in front of him. His shin crashed into the low tabletop and he fell forward, twisting and flailing to avoid a direct impact on the glass table. The light went out as one of his arms smashed into a lamp near him, causing it to fall to the floor and shatter into a hundred pieces. Dean hit the floor with a thud, landing on his side.
“Oh god, Dean are you okay?” you asked, walking gingerly toward him as you tried to avoid the broken glass.
“Yeah, I’m fine. The lamp sure isn’t though.” Dean grumbled as he pushed himself off the floor.
You helped him up and brushed some of the glass carnage off of his shoulders.
“If you can’t see the table in front of you I’m thinking you need glasses.” you said.
“I can see just fine!” Dean replied indignantly.
“Doesn’t seem like it to me.” you said with a grin.
“Hey, I can see, I was just distracted.” Dean said with a playful glare.
“Oh really? And what exactly was distracting you? There’s nothing here to be distracted by.”
Dean cleared his throat. “Uh.. well, I was distracted by, well, uh, you.”
“Me?” you looked at him confusedly.
“Yeah. I just, well you walked out here and you looked really beautiful and I wasn’t paying attention so I ran into the table.”
Dean met your eyes, and you were caught by their beautiful green. You felt your cheeks grow hot, and you flushed under his continued gaze.
“Wow…” you said softly. “Th-thank you Dean.”
Dean placed his hand on your cheek, gently cradling your face.
“I mean it (y/n). You always look beautiful, but especially right now in that dress.”
“Hey what’s taking so- whoa what happened here?” Sam appeared in the doorway, looking confused and concerned.
Dean jumped and attempted to step back, causing him to trip over his own feet and fall to the floor. He jumped up and cleared his throat. as Sam’s eyebrows shot up and he snickered to himself.
“Nothing Sammy, just a little accident. We were just on our way out, weren’t we (y/n)?” asked Dean.
You stepped away from Dean and straightened your hair. “Yep, we were-we were definitely about to do that.”
Sam looked at the red staining your cheeks and the way that Dean was pointedly not looking at either of you and grinned.
“Well I’ll just leave you two lovebirds in here to finish what you started, I’ll see you at the car when you’re done with… whatever it is you’re doing”. Sam called out as he left the doorway.
You looked over at Dean who was looking at you with an embarrassed smile.
“I mean what I said too Dean. Thank you.” You kissed him on the cheek and walked out to meet Sam.
Dean blushed, and stood alone for a moment. He touched his cheek where you had kissed him and smiled. Tonight was going to be a good night.
