As soon as the guard dropped the sword, a figure swiftly went and took the blow.
Ryu's eyes widened when he saw that the figure who had taken the blow was Eve.
The guard was surprised to see the girl. She was obviously too weak to stand up because of his slap, but how can she be here?
Eve coughed up two mouthfulls of blood. It was painful, she felt excruciating pain as the sword was embedded on her right shoulder.
She grabbed hold of the sword and lifted her head.
The guard who was still holding the sword was now terrified, as he looked at the eyes of the girl.
He was being stared at by a crimson red pair of eyes. He felt like those eyes was ready to swallow him any minute.
It wasn't like that just a minute ago. So, what happened!?
But before the guard could recollect himself. Eve already punched him.
She punched him really hard, that he flew on the wall. The wall soon made a cracking noise.
All of the guards including Ryu was shocked to see, the weak girl punched the guard so hard that the wall cracked.
Eve took a deep breath and slowly took out the sword that was embedded on her shoulder.
She turned around and a glint of murderous intent was seen on her red eyes.
Footsteps was heard from a far and soon a highly armored guard came in sight.
It was the guard that was ordered by the emperor personally. When the guard saw the big wound on the girls shoulders, beads of sweat formed on his head.
Oh no.
He was strictly ordered to not let anything happen to the girl. He even swore on his status and name. But to think one of his subordinates would be stupid enough to harm the girl.
The guard saw how Eve's shoulders were drenched in blood. He was really regretting not coming here sooner.
He immediately went towards Eve. The guard was about to aid her, when suddenly a sword was pointed on his neck.
But what shock him was the girl's eyes that held such muderous intent.
"Captain! "
"Stand back! " the guard swallowed and slowly backed away.
Soon after Eve moved in an incredible speed and dashed towards the guards that was pinning down Ryu.
Eve kicked the guard away and punched the other. Both of the guards coughed out blood as soon as Eve hit them. It was as if a powerful force was on her fist and was able to hit directly on their organs.
"Stop! "
A voice soon came and filled the place. A familiar figure came into view.
When the guards saw the familiar figure walking towards them, they immediately kneeled down.
Eve turned around and saw the familiar figure was the person that she met a while ago.
"Emperor! "
The person slowly walked towards Eve. As soon as he was just a step further, his gaze landed on the shoulder that was drenched in blood.
The person soon furrowed his brow.
"Your the emperor? " Eve questioned him.
The person nodded in response.
"No way! I thought you were a woman! "
All the guards including Ryu was dumbfounded. Where was the vicious and scary girl just now?
The emperor chukled. "You are still making jokes even in this state your in? "
Eve furrowed her brows and looked on her shoulders to see it drenched with blood. And then she turned towards the guards and Ryu, they were all stiff.
Whoops, maybe I overdid it.
The emperor soon pulled Eve's arm all of a sudden and began examining her wound.
When he saw the wound gone his eyes widened and sure enough his guess was right.
"Suzaku."
The moment Eve heard what he said, she immediately pulled away from him and stared at him with questiong eyes.
Ryu was also surprised on what he said. How? How does the emperor know that name?
"Suzaku. The God of life and death. The judgement. The keeper of the Phoenix. " the emperor eyed Eve and asked. "You know that name right? "
"I..."
"I would like to ask Lady Eve, to help us. " the emperor bowed his head.
"Help? But I'm just an ordinary girl."
Eve was turned away her gaze from him.
"I will tell you inside the palace. So if you don't mind. " the emperor held out his hand indicating for Eve to come inside.
Inside the palace.
Eve and Ryu was standing side by side with each other as they face the emperor who was standing opposite to them.
Minutes passed by and Eve couldn't stand it anymore and called out to the emperor. "My Lord. "
"Call me Hotaru."
Eve swallowed and asked. "Umm.. Ho...Hotaru, what exactly are you going to say to us. "
Hotaru saw how Eve was really uncomfortable. He sighed and began. "A long long time ago, someone foretold a prophecy."
"A prophecy? " Ryu and Eve both said.
Hotaru nodded. "It was said that in the future, a person will appear from another world and be chosen as the reincarnation of Suzaku. If that person were to befall from evil, the world will surely be destroyed. "
