Joshaya Meets Game Night

A/N: Lucas chose Maya. Riley connected with Evan. Josh stayed silent. It's been months since the ski lodge, and everything seems to have fallen into place. Let's see what happens when the gang gets together for a game night and Josh shows up...

Maya's POV

"I say we play the couple's game. There's nothing I dont know about Evan." Riley says, while Cory glares at her. He's very slowly coming to terms with their relationship.

"We're in. I mean, Maya and I have known each other longer, so we will definitely win." Lucas says, taking my hand and causing me to blush.

"I've been married to Ava Morgenstern for 52 years. You people don't stand a chance!" Auggie exclaims, causing everyone to chuckle.

Farkle and Smackle agree to play too. Mr. and Mrs. Matthews decide to sit this one out. They probably don't want to put us all to shame. They announce that they are going to see a movie instead. Before they leave, Mrs Matthews leaves some money for pizza and Mr Matthews assures us that he is 'watching us' even if he isn't here.

"So who wants to go first?" Riley asks excitedly as she opens the box and pulls out the questions. No one volunteers so she decides she and Evan will start things off.

"What was your first interaction with your partner?" Riley reads the question and Evan smiles brightly.

"Easy. You were sitting in the bay window at the Ski Lodge and I offered you hot chocolate. We talked all night." Evan smiles proudly at his girlfriend.

"Okay, your turn!" Riley beams, handing the box to Lucas.

I reach over and pick a card. When I read the question quickly in my head, it causes a laugh to erupt. Everyone is looking at me but I dont care. How did this even get in here? I'm sure Lucas ate this one.

"Okay Huckleberry, let's do this. Would you describe yourself as Library or campfire?" I chuckle at the end. Lucas smiles confidently.

"Definitely campfire." He answers without missing a beat. I cant help but grin. He really did choose me.

"Okay, let's see what you've got Smarkle corporation" I say, taking the box from Lucas and passing it down the line to Farkle.

"Is it possible to love two people at the same time? Wait, didnt you eat this card the last time we played Maya?" Smackle reads out the question and before I can answer part two of her question, the front door flies open.

"Hey family!" Exclaims an all too familiar voice.

Josh smiles at the group, completely unaware of what he just walked in on. I feel Lucas tighten his grip on me and I smile.

"Uncle Josh? What are you doing here?" Riley asks him in a confused tone.

"Yeah Boing, it's been a while." I comment, silently cursing myself after the words come out. Why did I just call him that!?

"Sure has." He beams at me. If I wasn't sitting, I may have fallen over. His smile, his eyes, his face. Ugh.

"Just came to see what my favorite neice was up to I guess." He says, finding himself a seat on the couch between me and Riley.

"We're playing the couples game. Wanna join?" Riley says, and I feel Lucas go rigid.

"Love to. Who needs a third wheel in their relationship?" Josh says, clearly joking. Everyone except Lucas giggles.

"How about you ask the questions and we'll answer." I suggest, trying to be helpful.

"Whatever you want, Gorgeous." Josh says, flashing me his perfect smile. This is going to be a long night!
