"So glad you could finally arrive..." the cloaked destroyer cackled as the eight prisoners walked into the room in chains, with guards on all sides.
"You think you're a villain? You ain't seen nothing!" Bowser, one of the prisoners roared at his capturer.
"Quiet, you'll just get us into more trouble!" Peach, princess of the Mushroom Kingdom, leaned over to the fellow prisoner beside her. Toadsworth, a prisoner on the other side of her and her loyal assistant, leaned to the red hat wearing plumber beside him.
"You can get us out of here, right? You always have!" he whispered.
Luigi, Mario's brother, from the far side of the line, yelled across, "How did we even get IN this mess?"
Mario thought it over, decided the true beginning was three days ago that morning. He had just given up trying to wake Luigi, as every morning, when there was a commotion outside. The decision of where to place this story's beginning is not an easy one, but he would say it all began when he opened the door.
