Not What He Seems [Ereri/ Riren]

Chapter 4

"Eren!"

The brunette turned to see Hanji waving at him.

Eren only smiled as he waved back. He went back to his usual table.

"You know Hanji Zoe?" Jean asked as he sat beside him.

"We have Science together." He simply said as he went on ahead and ate his lunch.

Although he didn't show it, he felt as if someone was staring right at him.

Maybe it's just my imagination...?

But to avoid paranoia, he asked Armin (who was just Infront of him) to check if someone is staring at him.

"Well... There is one person..." Armin started.

"And who might said person be?" Eren asked crossing his arms.

"President meanie over there." Jean laughed.

"If I'm not mistaken it's either you have something that's not acceptable in his eyes, or he's just staring off into space not realising he was looking at someone." Armin said.

"It's four actually. He could just be admiring something about you.  Trying to figure out if he knows you. Think you're hot. Or what Armin said earlier." Ymir commented.

"You gotta admit, Eren is hot. For a geek." Krista noted.

"Am not." Eren whispered to himself feeling his cheeks heat up.

"Don't be modest. Any one could fall for that!" Mikasa said.

"Even someone like me could fall. I'm not saying I am though." Said Jean.

"F*ck off Jean." Eren said as he glared at Jean.

Everyone laughed as they went back to eating lunch.

"And he's late again..."

The brunette sighed as he looked at the clock.

3:30

He lowered his head and went back to writing on their project.

"Where could he be?" Eren asked himself as he pondered on the raven's whereabouts.

"You okay there Eren?" Petra asked as she organized her own project.

"Just tired. And I'm waiting for my partner to show up. I guess he's busy or something..." Eren said.

"He'll show up, believe me." Petra encouraged.

Just then a thought popped in Eren's mind.

"But what if he doesn't cooperate?" Eren asked.

The Brunette sighed and looked down on his paper.

"And we really need to finish this project." He added, running his fingers through his hair.

"Don't worry." Petra said from beside him.

"He might be cold and mean sometimes," she started as she finished the final touches for her portfolio. "But, once you get past  that cold exterior of his, you'll start to warm up to him and you'll be finishing that project in no time!" she said with a smile on her face.

"How can you guarantee it?" Eren asked feeling doubtful.

"Because," she paused as she started to clean up after herself.

"He's not what he seems." She said as she finished up and left the library.

Eren was left speechless, how can he get through the cold, mean exterior of Levi Ackerman? Will he even get as close as to making him talk?

Sighing again. He finished the first part of their project.

I think he stood me up again.

Taking a deep breath he started to pack his things, a frown sketched upon his face as he went out of the library.

Levi was jogging his way to the library. He promised Eren he would be there to help. He wasn't going to make him wait for nothing. But he was too late, as he arrived at the now closed library.

Grunting in frustration he checked his phone if Eren left a message to which he hoped he did.
But he got his hopes up for nothing as he was met with a blank screen.

F*ck.

He quickly messaged him asking where he was.

Eren: I'm at my apartment rn, y?

Levi: I'm sorry if I stood you up, I promise I'll make it up to you.

The moment he hit the send button was the moment he changed his mind. He didn't instantly get a reply so he thought the worst.

What if thoughts clouded his mind as he waited for Eren's reply.

Just then he felt his phone vibrate in his hands.

Eren: coffee, at chen's.

Eren: we'll do our project there, the library isn't working out for us😂

Levi felt a smile creep onto his face, he made no attempt to stop it though.

Levi: how does tomorrow sound?

Eren: great, see you then.

He went back home with a smile on his face. A thing he almost forgot how to do.
