What is the first thing you ever thought of when you hear the word "love"?

Probably something cheesy and romantic right? Well ain't that cliché?

I've always thought that love was just an excuse for the weak to find someone who is stronger to defend them. I've always thought that it was a waste of time, money and effort. It was good for nothing.

But all that changed when I found this brilliant young woman, she was amazing and intelligent. Her looks and personality was just absolutely dazzling!

We dated for a while, and that all changed as her demeanor turned suspicious. She didn't talk nor go near me.

I asked her, she said she was fine, I tried to understand but, she's just difficult, I made an effort to wait but, she left me hanging.

It was until I found out she had an affair, I wasn't mad, just confused.

Did she not like me? Was she tired of me? Was she sick if me? Was I not enough?

A million thoughts ran circles around my head, a hurricane of thoughts. A whirlwind of "what it's".

I came to a conclusion that if she didn't want to be with me anymore, I'd let her go. Besides, what good would it give? We're only making it difficult, letting go didn't seem like a bad idea right now.

So, I asked her to come to the park, where I saw her kiss the man she loved. It's sad to say that wasn't me.

"Hey, you said you wanted to meet up?" She asked, I wanted to cry, but I can't even if I wanted to.

"We should stop this..." I said. My voice cracking due to the amount of time I haven't spoken.

"Stop...? What do you mean stop?" She asked confused, I can see the mixed emotions in her eyes.

"Our relationship, it needs to stop." I said, this time a little louder so she could hear.

"Why? What's wrong honey?" She asked again.

"I saw you kiss another man, I figured you got tired of me." I explained.

Dread was evident on her pale face. She's been caught.

"Yes, you're right..." She said lowering her head down in shame.

"I don't blame you..." I said, the sadness lacing my voice was clear. "I've made mistakes and like any other people, I lack the ability to satisfy your needs. If you're happy with him, I'll let you go." I finished with a smile, despite the now stinging sensation in my eyes.

"Eren, I..." I cut her off, shaking my head smiling sadly. "No need for words, it was fun while it lasted Doll, I hope he treats you better than I do." With that said, a tear broke and ran down my cheek.

"Eren, I'm sorry..." She said wiping the tears that started falling down. She gave me a sad smile and hugged me tightly. "I'm so sorry..."

"If you need me, always know that I'm here for you, no matter what time or situation. Okay?" I told her.

I placed both my hands on her shoulder and gently pushed her off of me. I looked at her and patted her head.

"Before I say good bye, would you do one last thing for me?" I asked. She nodded, I can now see tears forming in her eyes.

"Be happy." I said, "I hope he takes you to the moon."

With that, I turned around and left...

I just wished she knew that no matter where she was, she'll always my heart.

No matter where she was, I loved her from afar...

After I got home I was asked why I looked so down, I told my mom I was fine, my dad didn't believe me and went after me to my room.

There he asked me again and again why I looked bad. Then I told him everything that happened with my now ex girlfriend.

I let the tears fall down as I did, making my words mix with sobs and hiccups and the occasional sniffles.

Dad hugged me and said, "women are complicated beings. You're better off without her." He reassured me.

"You'll find someone. I know you will." He said as he rubbed circles around my back, it was comforting.

"It's all a part of life, you get hurt and you fall. But when you do, get up, you try again and you make it better." He said quoting Serena Williams.

I smiled, "thank you dad."

*Present day*

A dark cloud loomed over as far as the eye could see, the rain was about to pour down, the students of Maria high were now entering the halls of the said school eagerly to avoid the heavy rains.

There amongst the crowd was Eren Jeager, already on his way to his first period.

Feelings don't die easily because we keep feeding them with memories.

The thought of his ex girlfriend had crossed his mind a little over the last hour now. Just when he woke up.

He wondered how she was and if she still remembers him. But she was probably happy with her boyfriend now, besides, he has his own boyfriend now.

Yes, it was official. Eren and Levi were now boyfriends. At first no one took it seriously, not until Levi pulled Eren into a kiss in the middle of confessing that they were dating. The halls of the school were in shock and awe as the two went in hand in hand every day after that.

It made the school more aware of the LGBT+ community, Levi and Eren being the leading officials of the newly found club.

More and more confessions were said after they had heard about Eren and Levi's confession. Now, half the population of the school came out all in a month or two.

When Eren reached the doors to his classroom he was immediately greeted by Levi, who was coming in more earlier than they first met each other.

They held hands and talked a little until ms Love arrive.
