Touma had one thing on his mind: text (f/n).
On the way home from the (l/n)'s, Touma spotted a poster sitting underneath the lamplight. Curious, he crossed the road so he could read what it said.
"Summer Festival..." he mumbled under his breath, a cloud of air escaping from his lips.
Cold, nimble fingers reached for the phone inside his pocket. He pulled it out, turning it on the moment he felt it, and snapped a photo of the poster.
He sent it to his friends, who replied almost immediately.
That sounds like fun. I have nothing else to do anyways. We should go there.
— Haruhiko UchimiyaOhohohoh~ Touma, thinking of bringing your girl out on a date there? Bring me w/ you! UwU
— Tachibana KisyunTouma didn't know whether to sigh or blush at the second text, but agreed to go to the festival with his friends anyway.
Don't forget to call (f/n)-chan!
— Tachibana KIsyunKisyun uses her first name already? He doesn't even know her as well as I do... Touma frowned.
"Achoo!" Touma rubbed his icy nose. I should probably head back home now, it's quite late, isn't it?
Once he did arrive home, though, he was bombarded with questions about the dinner. The questions he got asked—"Did you say hello to her mother?", "Did anything special happen?", "Did you two ki—"—alternated from sister to sister. In the end, the interrogation ended at around midnight, leaving Touma feeling sluggish and sleepy.
Despite this, he thought it was best to text (f/n), so that when she wakes up, "she'll have something pleasant to surprise her."
To: (f/n)-chan
Hey, did you have a good sleep?
On the way home, I found this poster of the summer festival.
Do you want to come with me?
— Kikuchi Touma
With the image of bright fireworks in his mind and the hope of a positive reply, Touma sent he message and slept soundlessly with one goal in his mind:
Text (f/n).

The girl struggled to get up the next morning, mainly because her phone blasted her ringtone right in her ear.
Groggily, her hand reached for the device and answered the call, eyes not checking to see who was calling.
"Hello—"
"WAKE UP, GET UP, GET OUT THERE! We're gonna have a study session at Kou's house today!" Kominato's voice exploded through the phone, making the girl shout in pain.
"Why are you calling so early in the morning?! On a Sunday?" she screamed back.
"Because we need everyone to get ready! Kou's been lacking in his grades so I thought that we should all meet up to help him."
"I never knew you were the type for studying..." The girl ran a hand through her messy (h/c) hair, groaning. "Hey—how did you even get my phone number anyway?"
"Yoshioka-chan! She said she wasn't sure whether your number's still the same as in middle school, but I guess it is! Now get ready, okay? We'll meet up at the train station in an hour or so. See you there!"
"Wait! I didn't agree to anyth—"
Beeeeeep.
The line went dead.
"Oh, thanks Kominato." she groaned.
Rubbing her temples, the teen sat up in bed, cradling her head. It would be rude not to turn up, and if she did, she'd make sure Kominato would get hit for forcing her to come.
But I guess that studying would be alright. I kind of need to study, don't I?
Plus, it would be nice to see Mabuchi again, wouldn't it?
(F/n) shook her head at the last, absurd thought and decided that she would go so that she could study. She saw Kou at school yesterday, anyway. Why would she be pleased to see him outside of school?
Ignoring her trailing thoughts, the girl yawned and noticed a message on her phone. She picked up for a closer look...
She jumped in shock.
Touma?
Curious, she opened the message up. The unexpected invitation made the corners of her mouth lift.
Hope filling her heart, she accepted.

I haven't been on this account in a while, but—
I forgot that I left these for me to work on //whoops.
Anywho, thank you so much for your patience! I hope this small (filler) chapter reminds you that I'm still working on it.
To be honest, I did lose interest in this book for a bit, but then—
BAM!!
This song hit me like a boulder and somehow I thought of this book and the feeling I had while thinking about it. So here I am. (Guess who's back. Back again.)
