YOU CAN'T PICK WHO YOU LOVE

Chapter One

Jessica's POV:

I woke up from a peaceful sleep to the sound of a not so peaceful song blaring from my phone. I rolled over in bed and reached around for it. My hand hit the smoothe surface and I groaned and answered. "Hello?"

"Hey!" Kayla's chirpy voice came through the phone, "Are you awake?"

"I am now," I said, sitting up and looking at myself in the mirror. My brown hair was a mess, my green eyes were half-closed and my skin was pale from sleeping. I jumped out of bed and went over to my closet, putting on jeans and a t-shirt.

"Good. So can I come over?"

As I was running a brush through my tangled hair I stopped and frowned. "Why? I can just pick you up on the way to school like usual." See, Kayla was technically old enough to get her liscene, but she was just too lazy, so I always drove her to school in my old, rusty green bug. Kayla and I had set up a stero so that we could blast our music and took the top off. It was actually pretty nice.

"Because, Jason wants us to get there early because he has a surprise for us, and I was kind of wondering if you wanted to do my hair..." she was using her sweet, innocent voice and I finished yanking the brush through my hair in anger.

Jason, Jason, Jason.

"Fine," I grumbled.

"Cool, be there in five!" Kayla hung up and I finished getting ready by taming my hair, brushing my teeth, putting on just a little bit of makeup, and lacing my sneakers. When I was done she walked into my room, smiling. She was in a skirt, boots, and a tight top. Her makeup was done but her hair was in a messy bun on top of her head.

"Ready!" she said, sitting down on my desk chair in front of the mirror. Kayla loved it when I did her hair. She claimed that I was the best at it and that she would never trust anyone else...ever...to touch it.

I got my brush from the bathroom and began the process of taking out her bun. "So what is this surprise that Jason wants to show us?" I asked.

She shrugged, "I dunno. That would kind of ruin the surprise," she laughed. "But since it's Jason I bet it'll be great."

I swear, I was gonna kill that girl.

"You know, I don't think I've ever actually met Jason," I said as I began to brush her long, dark hair. It was usually, like mine, wavy (her's was maybe a little curlier), but she told me that she wanted it straight as a stick.

Kayla frowned. "Yeah, you havn't. Weird."

"Does he know who I am?" I asked, running the straightner down her hair.

"Duh, he's my boyfriend and you're my best friend. Of course he knows who you are."

I smiled. "Good," I said. I finished Kayla's hair and she approved it. "Do you want me to do yours?" she asked.

"Nah that's ok-" But she insisted, pushing me down into the chair and straightening it, frying it in the progress. It looked waaaayy different when she was done, and I'll admit, I actually kind of liked it.

"Okay," Kayla said, stepping back and admiring her work. "It's perfection. I am amazing."

I laughed, "Um, I think we all know who the most amazing person in this room is."

"Yeah, Duhh, me."

"Mmmhhhmm," I said, rolling my eyes sarcasticly. Kayla threw a pillow at me. "Come on let's go."

We got in the car and Kayla plugged in Ed Sheeran. "Stuck in her daydream, been this way since 18 but latley," we sang at the same time. Then she put on one direction, our ultimate favorite band. "So get out, get out, get outta my head!!! And fall into my arms instead!"

We arrived at the school, and I climbed out, ready to meet this Jason.

Hey guyss!!! Hope that you liked chapter one(: Okay, so now me and jessica will be co-writting this book together. So, I wrote this chapter and we'll switch off every now and thenn.

So, I'll tell you a bit about me. I'm Kayla, she Jessica (hahah get it books based off of us!) The book was Jessicas idea but i'll help out a lil bit with the plot too (i think idk ask jessica) and my profile is @five1derfulboys so check me out!
