Kayla's POV:

I gotta admit, I was kind of nervous about Jason meeting Jessica for the first time today. Jason's very...well, I guess he's your typical high school hearthrobe. Short blonde hair, cool blue eyes, toned skin and abs that can kill. And, as if to make it even better, he's on the football team. I mean, hello, could you be any more perfect?

That's why I feel like I have to try so hard. I'm not beautiful like some of girls at school. Jessica's got her eyes going for her (I want blue eyes SOO bad) but really, I'm just a brunnette with brown eyes. I didn't really get why Jason asked me out in the first place. And I will do anything to make it so he doesn't change his mind about me.

Jason lead Jessica and I to the rooftop. Technially, you aren't suposed to go up there. Jason's not one to mess with his football scholarship either, so the fact that he was taking this risk was quite a big deal, and I felt a grin spread onto my face that he would risk it for me. We reached the top and I began to survey the scene. It wasn't much. Actually, it wasn't really anything at all. It was just a tiny little brown box in the middle of the emptey rooftop.

Jason opened his mouth to talk but Jessica's ringtone inturrupted him. Sighing, she answered. "Hello?" She said, sounding annoyed.

"I have no idea! I don't give a crap, Brandon. Get a life!" Then she hung up.

"Who's Brandon?" Jason asked and I vaguley wondered why he cared.

"Her brother," I answered.

Jessica face flamed. Her and her brother weren't the best of friends, to put it simply. "My sorry excuse for an older brother. You know how in movies the brother's oh-so protective of their little sister. Yeah, not in real life," she said rolling her eyes.

"What's with the box?" I asked, turning the attention away from Brandon because I knew Jessica could go on and on about how much she hated him all day.

A playful grin spread over Jason's face and he walked over to it and handed it to me. Curiousilty filling me, I opened it, Jessica peering over my shoulder. Four thin pieces of paper rested in them...and it took me a second to figure out what they were. Tickets.

"Are those tickets to the Summer Bash?" Jessica asked, her eyes wide.

We were in the eleventh grade and Jason was already thinking about colledge. School was almost over, it was late in May, and Summer Bash was litterally the biggest event of the summer, taking place in early August. Every artist who was worth something to the world showed up and it was this HUGE party that everybody went to.  Tickets were nearly impossible to get. But here they were, in my hand, four of them.

"Oh my god," I murmmered.

Jessica began to squeal and I found myself doing the same. We were jumping up and down like little girls, hanging onto each others arms. When I was done I hugged Jason and he picked me up. "Thankyou," I whispered in his ear and he tightened his grip on me.

"Yeah, thank you!" Jessica agreed. "But why are there four?"

Something showed on Jason's face that I wasn't sure how to define. "I had thought that we could double date....do you have a boyfriend?"

"No, but I'm sure I can find someone," Jessica said.

"There's one more thing," Jason said, grabbing my hand and making his way down the staircase. "More?" I asked. I wasn't sure what else he could do.

The gym. It was decorated beyond recongnization. Streamers hung in perfect spirals down the side and lights that showed off a pretty light pink glow rested on my skin. "What is this?" Jessica asked.

"I dunno. Just....somethng."

"I feel like I'm in a little pink box," I whispered.

Jason smiled. "Aren't you going to get in trouble for this?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah, what about football?" I put in.

Jason paled a little. "Yeah, we should leave now...I didn't leave a trace back to me, but you know.."

We ran away from the gym and Jessica turned to us a little awkardly. "I'm gonna go to my locker. Kayla, I'll see you in Spanish," she said, spun on her heel, and walked away.

Jason looked down at me, his hands on my hips. "Thank you," I said again. His eyes sparkled and I felt a little flip in my stomach.

I'd never HAD a boyfriend before Jason. I know, I know, it's weird to be this old with only one. We'd been dating for the past seven months now, and I was starting to think that I actually loved him. Love's a strong word and I'm not one to throw it around like it's nothing. Part of me knew that maybe someday Jason and I would come to an end. He wanted to go a football school and I still had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. He wanted to live in the city and to be honest, I didn't like the city too much. It kind of scared me.

But that's the whole point of being in love, right? Overcoming all the hurdles that are placed in front of you. Besides, how adorable would it be to say that you married your very FIRST boyfriend? First love. I guess that you never really let go of your first love, even if you break up, but I wasn't playing on us ever breaking up. Okay, hold up Kayla stop thinking about marriage.

Still. Jason and I. Has a nice ring to it, right?

He surprised me then by asking a question I didn't think he gave a crap about. "What's up with Jessica and her brother?"

Um, okay.... "Oh. She just doesn't agree with him on anything." He stared at me, obviously wanting more. "Well he's kind of...not emo, not goth but very like...secure I guess? I dunno kindda mysterious in a way and I think that it annoys Jessica to death."

He was still staring at me, waiting for me to continue. "Why are you so curious?" I asked.

Jason quickly said, "She's your best friend, I wanna know about her is all."

Awh, he was so cute. "Um, well I don't even know that much about him and we practically grew up together." An idea came to my mind, "Ohmigod IDEA!"

Jason laughed, "Oh nooo," he moaned sarcastically and I slapped him on his arm.

"What if there was a way to get Jessica and her brother to be better friends? I get that the Summer Bash is at THE very end of the summer so It'll be a while but Brandon's leaving for colledge at the end of summer and I don't want him leaving with a bad relationship with her. What if we invited him to Summer Bash? Even he would have to admit that that's amazing."

Jason really, really REALLY seemed to like this idea. "Definetly!" he said.

"Great."

"But won't Jessica be a little mad at you?"

I shrugged, "She'll thank me later." I hoped.
