YOU CAN'T PICK WHO YOU LOVE

Chapter Ten

During the earthquake I went with the rest of my class to the basement and waited. It didn't last too long, and afterwards they had us do a search of the school to make sure no one was injured. I found Louis and we walked around together, looking for people.

After around an hour Louis came to do a door and tried to open it, but it didn't budge. We found some tool things (I'm bad with stuff like that) and forced the door down. Inside, Jessica and Jason sat against the wall. Jessica's face was red and Jason's eyes were wide, and I assumed that it was from the earthquake.

"Kayla!" Jason said, jumping up. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about you two?"

Jessica said, rather quickly, "Oh we are totally fine we just were sitting here staring at the wall bored out of our minds this whole entire time."

Louis smiled, "Good. Kayla and I couldn't find you and we thought you guys were hurt or something."

Jason walkd over to me and hugged me, kissing my cheek and neck. "I'm glad you're okay," he whispered in my ear.

"Same," I said back. "So, do you guys wanna hit Starbucks or something?"

"Nah, that's okay I neeeda get home Brandon and my mom will be-" Suddenly, her phone exploded in a ring tone and she rolled her eyes. "Wondering where I am."

Jessica declinded the call.

About two seconds later, my phone rang. I check the screen and saw that it was Brandon. "Should I answer?" I asked Jessica."

"Yeah, I guess."

"What?" I said into the phone.

"Are you okay?"

I frowned, "Why wouldn't I be?"

"There was an earthquake, sherlock."

I sighed. "We're fine. I'm with Jessica and she's okay too."

"Okay." He hung up the phone.

Jessica rolled her eyes, "He is sooo annoying. Acting like he cares and everyhting. Ugh." She rocked bakc and forth on her heels, looking nervous. "Anyyywaaaayyyysss I gotta get home."

"Don't you need a ride?" Jason asked.

"I can walk."

"No you can't!" I said, "You can ride with Jason and I, right Jason?"

"Sure," Jason answered. I climbed in the passengers seat once we got outside, Jason in the front, and Jessica in the back. I turned on the radio and a song I reconginizes as Taylor Swfit came on.

"You Should've said no, you should've gone home, you should've thought twice before you let it alll gooo. You shoul have know that word, bout what you did with her would get baccckk to meee." (Song over there!!!>>>>>>>>>>>)

Jessica, for once, didn't sing along with me. "You sure you okay?"

"Yeah. Totally," she said, but she didn't really look it.
