Esme's POV

I quickly ran on the rooftops. My feet pounding on the tiles. I ran and ran until I saw Clementine being brought to her knees. I got close enough to hear Ava's voice. "Clementine, this brings me sorrow to have to do this. But you've left me no choice." Ava said bringing a gun to Clementine's head. I shot the gun out of Ava's hand with my Phantom Blade. "No! You will not because she is innocent." I growled, holding a gun to her. "Esme. Don't." Leroy said. "She's not a Templar. My father was before he betrayed them to a better cause. That's all we have left of him." I said. "Plus, how are you going to explain this to Jace? Can't say you killed his mother." I said and I untied Clementine. "She's right, we can't tell Jace we killed his own mother." Lilli said.

"Esme, defying my rule is treason against the brotherhood." Ava said. "So what? Are you going to shoot two innocent people? For false accusations, that one of them is a Templar?" I asked and Ava frowned. "You know how to twist your words, Esme." Ava said. "I'm fighting for what's right. It's what we stand for, isn't it?" I asked and Ava quickly walked away. "Call off the execution!" She demanded and they untied Clementine and she ran up to me and hugged me. "Thank you." She whispered. "Of course, you're my sister after all." I said and she laughed slightly. "Lucky you made it in time." Arno said. "It's not like you didn't do anything." I said glaring at him. "I didn't want to be sentenced to death for treason." Arno said. "Well, now we know where your loyalties stand." I said walking to Leroy. I hugged him softly and he hugged me back. "I knew your sister was innocent. Everyone should have a chance of trial before sentenced to death." He said and I looked at him.

"That's okay, now we know the truth."
