Chapter 3

Willow

"WIllow, I'm your father."

Those words continue to echo in my head.

I get up and I became speechless. My eyes began to feel with tears.

"You're lying. My father is dead."

I walk out of the door as he follows me. Is he serious? My father? No way he is my dad. My mom is crazy but she is not that dumb to leave a rich man? This just doesn't make sense. 

"Willow will you please allow to explain? I only want to have a minute of your time."

"What could you possibly say? Just say that I actually believe you are my father. Why would you allow your daughter believe that you were dead? Why would you leave her?"

"Please come back inside and sit down and I promise to explain everything to you."

I go back inside to sit at the table and fold my arms.

"Yeah, you're my daughter hahaha."

"I do not find this funny one bit."

"OKay Willow. When I came to the states, I was only here to go to school. I ended up meeting your mother. I never seen someone so beautiful. I knew I had to talk to her. Our relationship blossomed and She ended up pregnant. My family threatened to have me sent back if I didn't. So I told her to tell you that something happened to me. It's not her fault so don't be mad at her. She left me and I said that once I made something of myself, I would be the father you deserved. I literally have been looking for you for 15 years. Just so happens, you ended up being the woman who wanted to buy my building. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see your beautiful face."

"I have a daughter and there is no one or anything, that can keep me from being in her life. I forgive you because that is what God wants me to do. As far as a relationship with me goes, we will see. I literally have some praying to do. I am hurt and even more confused than I was just a second ago."

"I understand. My driver will take you home if you are ready to go."

"Thank you."

I walk to the car as the driver takes me back to my office. I walk in and immediately Jen follows me to my office.

"What's wrong boss lady?"

"Jennifer, I just met my father."

I fall into her arms and begin to cry.

"Boss Lady I will be looking into this for you. You know I have your back Low. This is your friend speaking."

I cry harder.

"Jen how could he just leave me? I thought he was dead. All of these years, I am just confused."

"It's okay. You are beautiful Low and whoever leaves you is leaving a diamond for a piece of glass. You are a strong woman and you made it despite anything and anyone. Pick yourself up and be strong for yourself and your daughter. See where this relationship leads. Who's to say he isn't sorry  and that he really wants a relationship with you. I really believe him. There s nothing for him to gain from lying to you. Just see where it goes."

"You're right Jen. Let me change back into my clothes and set up for the client please."

"Okay boss lady."

I change back into my clothes.

I go into the private room to start on my clients hair and makeup.

"Oh My God! Willow you always do me right girl! I love it! You know I want this same exact look! Don't change a thing."

"Okay hun! I will do your bridesmaids a subtle beat as well. Book for your wedding at the front desk and you have an amazing day. I am so excited you love your look!"

We hug and she goes to book her appointment. Jen walks up to me and hugs me.

"Boss Lady, you don't have anymore appointments today. You should go home and rest. You have had a long day."

"I will, I told Gerald to come by and talk with me."

"Oooo G and Low! I am so excited for you. You deserve  man like him."

"I know right! I have kissed enough frogs. He is my true prince."
