Chapter 17 (Flower)

It was a nice Saturday afternoon with all students enjoying their time playing and hanging out with friends. Nishikata, who was walking around the park had one thing in mind which was his gift for Takagi on Valentines. While wondering around, he thought of having to give her a letter, a box of chocolate and a flower. He went back home for to get his spending money only to bump into Takagi who was likely to have been walking by his house.

He trembled, greeting Takagi with a smile full of fear." H-Hey.. Ta-Takagi-san.."

Takagi replied with enthusiasm "Hi Nishikata! Were you taking a stroll?"

Nishikata then slowly replied "U-uhh no I-I just went to the park.."

Takagi then giggled and laughed replying "You still took a stroll though hahaha!"

He replied "Wh-What about you Takagi-san..?"

She then replied "Oh I was just taking a stroll too!"

Nishikata then replied confusingly "W-Wait? A-A stroll reaching to my house..? Th-That's a bit far.."

Takagi then giggled "I was just kidding, I actually wanted to see you today."

Takagi's reply made Nishikata blush and he then replied "S-Stop teasing me.. y-you're actually here to t-tease me right..?"

She then replied playfully "Maybe? I wonder hmm?"
"I actually wanted to give you the homework you missed yesterday on History while you were at the nurse's office"

Nishikata then received a small box which seemed to have the homework inside and asked "W-Why is this in a box..? T-Takagi-san..?"

Takagi then suspiciously replied "I wonder, who knows hmm?" which made Nishikata fluster. "Well you'll know once you answer the homework"

He then replied "I-I hope this would not be a tease again" which made him process many thoughts such as it being possibly a tease or a gift which will surprise him.

Nishikata then bid thanks and farewell to Takagi and went inside his home proceeding immediately to his room.

"I-I would answer this tomorrow but the curiosity of what's inside is killing me.. I'll try to answer.."

He then opened the box revealing a tulip which confused him.

"A-A tulip? Wh-Why? She said to answer the homework to understand so I guess I'll know later.."

He then proceeded to answer the homework on History, which was about the Victorian Era. He answered some of the questions and still didn't understand the meaning of the tulip until he reached a question which answered his confusion.

"What is the flower that represents the first declaration of love in the Victorian flower language?"

After understanding the question, it immediately made him blush a million shades of red, thinking about why Takagi gave him a tulip.

"M-Maybe T-Takagi-san j-just did this to tease me..? I-I can't believe it if she's being serious.."

He then finished the homework and then layed on his bed thinking about it. A short period of time passed and he was suddenly surprised by a call from Takagi.

"T-TAKAGI-SAN?! W-Wait w-why is she calling me..?"

He then answered the call, receiving a greet from Takagi he then responded with a flustered tone "H-Hi T-Takagi-san.. wh-what's the matter?"

Takagi then asked "Have you answered the homework?"

Nishikata then responded "Y-Yeah.."

She then replied "So, have you got the answer for why there was a tulip inside the box?"

He then responded "I-I don't k-know.. a-are you teasing me again..?"

Takagi then responded playfully "Maybe? What do you think?"

Nishikata then replied "I-I guess a tease then..?"

She then let out a giggle and replied "Maybe, I wonder hmm?"

They then finished the call which left Nishikata deep in thought through the night.
