Teasing is a Game

Chapter 22 (Park)

A peaceful Sunday was enjoyed by everyone except for Nishikata, who was dreading of when Takagi would come for practice. Being all alone at home, he waited for her to come when a knock at the door was heard clearly. Nishikata swiftly but silently hid somewhere he thought Takagi would not be able to find him -- The basement. He hid on an old bed with blankets and sheets covering him.

"This should be good enough.. I guess.." He muttered.

A creaking sound was heard, with footsteps vibrating through the floor spreading around the house.

Nishikata said to himself "S-She's like a thief sneaking around.."

As footsteps were getting nearer and nearer to the basement, Nishikata started to sweat when suddenly footsteps stopped. This did not relieve Nishikata when the basement door opened. The sheets and blankets he had were thin enough to see clearly through it.

"I-Its definitely her.." He said in a low, scared voice confirming it was Takagi.

He was concentrating on watching her when he was caught off with Takagi saying.

"I know you're in here" she said with a playful tone.

Suddenly, a loud shout surprised Nishikata, making him shout too.

"BAM!"

"GAAH!"

Startled by the scene, Nishikata asked questions.

"H-HOW D-DID YOU EVEN FIND ME?!" He asked loudly.

Takagi then answered "You were breathing so loudly I'd know you were there hahaha!" with a laugh.

Nishikata sighed and brought her up to his room.

"G-Guess we'll start practicing.." he said.

Surprisingly, Takagi declined "Nope!"

This confused Nishikata leading him to ask "W-Why?"

Takagi replied "I want to practice somewhere else"

"Wh-Where would that be..?" He asked.

"I wonder hmm?" She said.

"Three choices to choose from!" She added.

"The park, the library, or the baseball field?" She asked.

"The park..?" He answered.

Takagi then responded "Correct! Let's go there!"

Nishikata then replied "W-We can but its a bit far from here.."

"Well, we can ride together on bike!" She said.

"T-That again..?" Nishikata asked with a sigh.

Takagi then confirmed and they both went to the park.

At The Park

Arriving at the park, they noticed considerable amounts of people were there and then they proceeded to the benches. They sat on  one and started practicing.

"T-Try singing T-Takagi-san..." he suggested.

Takagi then began to sing, with a beautiful voice containing wonderful tones and melody. Listening to this, Nishikata was blushing, each and every second also hearing his own heartbeat getting louder and faster as if Takagi could hear it.

"T-That was g-good I guess.." he said.

"Try playing the guitar now, I'll sing along" she told him.

As they were practicing, Nishikata noticed someone staring at them from another bench and then murmured to Takagi.

"T-Takagi-san.. d-do you know that guy?" glancing over to the direction.

"Hmm, he's pretty familiar.." she said.

After a few minutes of practicing, the guy went to them and said.

"Hey, would you guys want your song to be broadcasted at our radio center?" He asked.

Takagi and Nishikata looked each other with a face of confusion in the midst of awkwardness when the person spoke.

"Oh! Sorry to startle you, I'm Tajima, the radio anchor at our local station." He said.

He then added "I'll give you a moment to decide, just tell. I'll just wait at my bench"

Takagi then glanced to Nishikata accompanied with a nod, which made Nishikata fluster and reply in a nervous voice.

"A-Are you serious..?" He asked.

Takagi then responded "Well, I want to. How about you?" She asked back.

"S-Sir, a-about your offer a while ago, we would l-like to accept it" Nishikata said in a nervous voice.

Tajima then responded "Okay, we'll meet up tomorrow at the station at 1 sharp" He said whilst giving them his number.

"I'll call you if the schedule ever gets changed okay?" He added.

The both of them then nodded and then went home for the day, feeling excited but at the same time nervous for the event.
