Teasing is a Game

Chapter 23 (Broadcast)

A new day, a nervous state Nishikata thought from waking up to the day of the recording. Feeling drowsy as he was unable to sleep well the night before because of excitement, he tried practicing the song once. In the midst of practicing, he received a call from none other than Takagi. He picked it up nervously and greeted.

"H-Hello T-Takagi-san, is something w-wrong..?" He said in a shaky voice.

"Excited huh?" She responded.

Nishikata was then confused and asked "W-Why do you think so..?"

"Your strumming right now was really good" She said.

"W-What..? H-How did you know?" He asked.

"Try looking outside"

When he heard that, he then immediately looked out and saw Takagi, waving her hand saying
"Hey Nishikata!"

"Y-YOU WERE THERE ALL ALONG?!" He shouted, with his voice resounding in the entire neighborhood.

"Hahahaha!" Takagi laughed making Nishikata blush.

"Let's practice together!" Takagi said.

"F-Fine, come i-inside.." he shrugged.

Nishikata let Takagi inside and then led her to his room.

"Feels like yesterday" Takagi said.

Nishikata then replied "IT WAS YESTERDAY" making Takagi laugh.

"Well, let's start practicing!" Takagi said.

"O-Okay.."

They then start to practice the song, repeating and repeating after every try. Moments later after their first hour of practice, they received a call from Tajima. Both of them were nervous but then mustered up the courage to answer.

"H-Hello..?" They both said.

"Hey guys it's me Tajima, the schedule is still good. If you want, you can come and practice at our studio before the airing time" Tajima explained.

"O-Oh okay sir.." Nishikata answered.

Tajima then hanged up the call. Moments after, they decided to go to the station much earlier so that they could practice.

"Let's ride the bike again!" Takagi suggested, making Nishikata's face change.

"B-But why..?" Nishikata asked.

"Well, we could be much more faster if we rode together you know" Takagi answered.

Nishikata then thought to himself that he clearly cannot avoid Takagi's suggestion which made himself give up.

They both rode on bike, riding 15 minutes to the station.

At the station

Arriving at the station, Nishikata and Takagi went up to the front desk.

"U-Um hello, is Tajima-san h-here..?" Nishikata asked.

"I'll try calling him, please wait a minute" the attendant said.

When the attendant dialed his number, Tajima then reluctantly appeared and greeted the both of them.

"Oh hey guys!" He greeted.

"Good morning sir" They both said in unison.

"Let's go to the studio, you can practice there" he suggested.

"Okay sir!" Takagi responded.

While they were walking down the hallway, the both of them admired the whole place, with instruments, discs, and frames filling the hallway.

"You can start practicing now, I'll call you up when it's time. If you need anything, just approach the attendant over there" He pointed at the opposite side of the room, revealing a guy with sets of amplifiers and musical gadgets around him.

"He's also the music producer here" Tajima added.

"T-Thank you sir, we'll start practicing now.." Nishikata said.

They both practiced repeatedly, revising tunes and melody of the song with the advice from the music producer.

Suddenly, they were surprised by the sudden yell from Tajima "It's airing time everyone! Prepare everything and we'll start in 5 minutes" making both Nishikata and Takagi nervous.

Tajima then approached them and whispered "Don't worry guys, your song will be the ending of today's talk so take it easy and relax"

Being reassured by Tajima, they both went to the break room as they listened to the ongoing radio talk.

"Everything will be alright Nishikata" Takagi ensured him, at the same time, holding both his hands.

Nishikata was taken aback by Takagi and then started to blush more every passing second.

"W-Why are y-you holding my hands T-Takagi-san..?" He asked in an embarrassed and shaky
voice.

"What do you think? Hmm?" She replied playfully.

"N-Nevermind.." He said, blushing in an embarrassed tone.

"And here is our special for today! An original by Mr. N and Ms. T!"

They sang the song, nervous yet excited at the same time. The 3 minutes felt like seconds as the song was ending.

Both of them put a smile unto their faces, singing every last lyric till it ended.

"That amazing performance now concludes our radio for today! Stay tuned to our station for more! Bye!"

After the performance, they were shaking, out of shock that they were able to perform it smoothly. The whole team at the station congratulated them and told them a surprise waiting for them in their phones.

They both immediately checked their phones and was amazed by the sheer number of comments supporting them both.

They both spent the day, still feeling shaky of a great achievement together they did that day...
