Christine walked around the opera house admiring its very beautiful architecture. She was very happy because this morning she received a letter from her old friend Raoul about him coming to Paris today. As she pulled out the note from her pocket she heard a floorboard creek. She quickly turned around and saw nothing. As she continued to walk she heard another and turned to find nothing again. She walked a little faster due to her uneasy feeling. As she walked to her dressing room she closed the door and sat to read the letter again.
"My dearest Christine,
I am very happy to write to you after all these years. I am currently on my way to Paris to become the patron to the Opera House. Monsieur Firman and Monsieur Andre have told me Wonderful stories of you and your dancing, you have become quite the lady since I last saw you.
Your dearest friend.
Raoul DeChanty."
Christine sighed happily and opened her book to read. Suddenly her door flew open and Madam Giry rushed in. Christine jumped and closed her book.
"The managers wish to see you. It is very urgent Christine, please hurry."
"Yes Madam."
Christine said then walked with Madam Giry to the managers office.

"Christine Daae. As you know you have caught the attention of some very well know talent scouts for your dancing here."
Christine nodded.
"Well the one man that we all fear has made us a deal."
"And what does this have to do with me Monsieur?"
She asked politely.
"He has given us the choice of having you go be his servant or the opera house will be cured with bad luck for years, which includes your career here."
"Why does he want me?"
Christine asked softly.
"He wished to teach you to sing."
Madam Giry said.
"Christine please if don't say yes we will have no choice but to end your career and stay here at the opera house."
Christine let a few tears slide down her cheeks.
"I will accept on one condition. Madam giry has to cost once a week."
"That can be arraigned."
A sudden voice said from what seemed to be the walls.
"He's here Christine. Go pack your things and I will take you to his home."
Madam giry told her.
Christine nodded and went to her room whipping tears that had fallen from her blue eyes.

"Come Christine, his home is just a few more minutes away." Madam Giry said leading Christine through the forest.
Christine held her bags in one hand and carefully played with the necklace her father gave her with her other hand.
"Madam Giry, What is to be expected of me?"
"What do you mean child?"
"What duties am I to fulfill while I'm here?"
"Master Destler will tell you when we arrive. Ah that's the most important thing I forgot. Please at all times call him Master. If you don't you will suffer greatly, just like that last girl."
"What happened to her?"
"She disobeyed him far to many times. So he sent her back and continued his haunting of the opera house which lead to her career being terminated. She was our last head ballerina and Prima Donna. I beg you, don't upset him. For all our sakes."
"Yes Madam, I understand." Christine nodded as both of them soon saw a huge castle ahead of them.
"We have arrived. Now don't do anything out of character, he knows you very well from just observing."
Christine nodded nervously.
As they walked into Master Destler's home Madam giry lead Christine into his office. As she opened the door Master Destler's head shot up and a wicked smile crossed his face.
"Good morning Madam giry. Hello my Christine."
