Tw: Suicide mention

"Do you hear my heartbeat?" I asked Virgil as I picked him up,
".. Yeah." He said softly,
"I want you to focus on that, alright?"
"Ok." His eyes closed.

Oh god.

I saw a soft smile hit his eyes.

"Keep your eyes open... Please.."

He was smiling, a soft, almost cute smile.

"Virgil?"

"Yeah Pat?"

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah."

"Can you hear my breathing?"
"Yep."
"Focus on that..."
"Of course..." He trailed off,
"Calm down, ok babe?" I sung.

His eyes fluttered closed. He was smiling softly. His eyeliner was slightly smudged under his left eye, but his face looked amazing nevertheless. His smile shone on, despite the horrific desert-like area. Virgil's hoodie was zipped, despite the burning hot breeze. I held onto his body. His hands were limp on my hands.

The burning air was still. Yet, I wasn't sure if I was ok to continue. I ran as quickly as I could.

Until I fell.

Damn.

It was that second that I realised what had happened. Virgil was pale, his breathing had slowed so much that he was almost dead. His eye's dark circles were darkened so much, that he was like a raccoon. I realised that if I couldn't get myself home, I would get him alive and send him off.

I would die happily. Virgil would be ok. The others would be be happy. I would be a footnote, just a passing memory.

I wouldn't mind. I would only worry for Virgil. I would want him to move on. Go foward. We could never be soulmates. He was so perfect, he would want a perfect boyfriend.

But then it hit me. I don't want to die. If I died, then Virgil would be heartbroken, if he was heartbroken, he would potentially try to kill himself. If he did that, the group would break. If that happened, Deceit would come back. If that happened, the world would be destroyed, I guess.

I stood up, still attached to Virgil.

I ran as fast as I could, still grabbing Virgil.

"Pat.." He finally spoke.

I froze.

"Virgil? Can you hear me?"
"Yeah..."

That second.

That damn second.

He went limp.

"VIRGIL?!"

A soft smile appeared on his face.

"I'm tired..."
"Please... Stay awake.."

His eyes were heavy, but open.

Better then nothing.

"I'll tell you a story."
"What?"
"There was an amazing boy. He had the most perfect hair-"
"His name was Patton."
