The cab stopped in front of a restaurant called, ‘Cibo Squisito’ as they got in Luhan saw a splendid interior. It felt like they went to some other country. It was overwhelming.
‘It’s all on me tonight, hyung’ Sehun said as they opened the menu, Luhan couldn’t help but smile. He always wanted to have a dinner in a restaurant he hasn’t been into with his brother. Although he’s been eager to ask him the reason for this grand dinner, Luhan kept himself from doing so. He believed in the saying that goes, ‘Save the best for last.’ There had to be something special to make Sehun treat him out.
They ate and talked peacefully, Luhan could feel his heart fleeting from over joy. A fancy dinner with Sehun was perfect—he didn’t want it to end just yet... He wanted more, more time... more memories with him just like this.
But life didn’t want what he wished for—as if it was mocking him... their happy moment was painfully brushed off when Sehun said,
‘I’m moving in with Daeun, hyung’
Luhan’s smile faded as he heard those words, ‘But it’s been just a year when you met her...’ he said weakly
Sehun nodded with a smile plastered on his face, ‘Yes, but we’ve made plans... we’re ready for our future, hyung’
‘B-but you’re still young, you don’t need to rush things’ Luhan added
‘I’ve also told mom about it, even Daeun’s parents agreed to it’ Sehun ignored him
‘Is this the reason for this dinner?’ Luhan asked
Sehun nodded once more and with a smile he said, ‘Yes, Daeun suggested it’
‘Are you really serious with her?’ Luhan asked without thinking
‘O-Of course... I wouldn’t have thought about moving in with her if I wasn’t’
He couldn’t help it... Luhan stood up, it startled Sehun, ‘What’s wrong, hyung?’ he asked
‘T-thanks for the meal... I forgot I still have something else to do’
Then without looking back, he ran off. Outside, far away... he took a cab and called his friend, he asked him to meet up and grab a beer. Xiumin took Luhan to his apartment, far away from the restaurant he was from. That night, he just drowned himself in alcohol.
‘What happened, Lulu?’ Xiumin asked as he watched his friend’s pitiful state.
‘Nothing... nothing good ever happens to me’ He bitterly answered
‘What did Sehun say? What happened at the dinner?’
Luhan looked at Xiumin, and suddenly tears started streaming down his cheeks and he just couldn’t manage to speak anymore. Painfully, he sobbed in front of Xiumin who was left to watch him.
‘What happened Lulu? Tell me...’
Luhan shook his head and continued to drink his beer as he sobbed. Xiumin couldn’t stomach watching Luhan so he pulled his wrist and said,
‘I don’t know what happened to you back there but you need to remember that I’ll always be here for you, Luhan... I’m not going to turn my back away from you’
‘Even when something might be terribly wrong with me?’ Luhan asked.
Xiumin shook his head, ‘Nothing can ever be wrong with you, you’re perfect just the way you are’
