The scent of vanilla along with sweat, it made him smile. Face buried as they embraced, swaying to the piano music. The embrace tightened gradually, and he can't help but feel like floating. As if he was a bubble blown towards the sky, being drifted above by the wind until he would disappear with a pop. But he wouldn't mind that. Disappearing, as he felt happy—he wouldn't mind it.
'There comes a time when people leave...
'The time when you can't stop them from going, and you know they will never return... the time when they will never come back... and that time comes and goes spontaneously, hyung
'Most of the times there won't even be a farewell, no warnings, and no hints—nothing. You'll be left alone. Only the memories with them would stay, every stinking small detail that make them whole in you, happy or sad—they'll stay
'But the person will still be gone, and there won't be any way to bring them back
'When that time comes, people will cry and people will get hurt
When that time comes... would you hate me then?'
Luhan shook his head as he smiled, 'Nothing can make me hate you, Sehun'
Letting go, Luhan looked up to his brother who smiled lightly at him. Hand holding his face, Sehun mouthed the words, 'I love you, hyung'
A strong and blinding light suddenly illuminated from behind Sehun, and Luhan couldn't help but close his eyes to shield it against the light. He felt Sehun's touch slowly fade, and when he opened his eyes. Sehun was gone.
Instead, he sat down staring at the blank white wall. 'Alas,' he sighed, 'I'm back'
'Did you get a nice good rest?' a cheerful voice greeted him, and as he turned he saw Doctor Kim, smiling happily.
'Annyeong, doctor' Luhan greeted back
'I assume you remember what day it is today?'
Luhan looked around the room, trying to spark his memories of what today was, and why it felt so important to his doctor. But moments of pondering in his empty thoughts, he sighed and shook his head.
'It's the day you get to go out' he spoke gently
'Oh,' Luhan spoke, he forgot. He's been in this facility for more than a couple of months now. Well, it's been months for him, but it might've been a lot longer. Asking his doctor wasn't a help, he'd just shrug the question as soon as Luhan thought about it.
'Oh, indeed' he chuckled, 'is there any place in particular you wanted to go to?'
'How long will I stay outside?'
'Hmm, you sound like you don't want to leave'
'So basically, I've got one day?'
His doctor chuckled once more 'One day?' then he looked back to Luhan. 'Do you not want to get out? I bet it's going to feel real good stepping out'
Luhan nodded and smiled, 'I've already got a place in mind, Joonmyeon'
'Ah~ first name basis, are we? Very well then, Luhan, where do you want to go?'
