*Hiccup's POV*

Two days have past since we set out to find Sloan's armada and free Ember. We followed the trail of destroyed islands he left behind. My heart sank at the sight of each decimated island. But, I held onto hope thinking Ember was still alive. She wasn't dead on any of the islands, nor was she adrift at sea. She had to still be with Sloan. He is a cruel man for making her kill people for his own self gain. I have no idea what she is going through, but one thing is certain. Once we find her, she's coming home with us. And when we get on Berk I'll tell her how I feel.
"There' it is. Sloan's armada," I said, tightening my grasp on Toothless's saddle. "Everyone be on guard. Sloan will throw anything at us. So be prepared. Astrid, Fishlegs, go right. Snotlout, Twins, go left. You know what to do."
"Let's blow stuff up!" Tuffnut shouted. His sister exclaimed in agreement, and everyone headed to attack Sloan's ships. Ember's Dad flew beside us and growled curiously.
"You're coming with us. We're going to find your daughter."
Ember's Dad groaned in content and followed us through the maze of ships. The others began to fire attack after attack at the surrounding ships. Toothless, Ember's Dad, and I did our own damage. Within the few minutes we were here, five ships were already sinking. Suddenly, a volley of arrows came towards Ember's Dad.
"Toothless, Plasma Blast!" I shouted, and Toothless fired above his head and destroyed the arrows. The Burning Phoenix looked at us wide eyed for a couple of moments. Then he shot fire at Toothless and I. Both of us jumped at his sudden movement, but noticed a burning rope net falling towards the sea. He saved us.
"Thanks." I said, Ember's Dad nodded in response. We tag teamed against a couple more ships, and covered each other's blind spots. Finally, after most of his defenses were destroyed, Sloan appeared on the main ship.
I heard a growl behind me  as we headed towards Sloan. I turned around and saw Ember's Dad with anger in his eyes. He snarled in Sloan's direction, and charged at him with full intent to rip him to shreds. Toothless and I cut off his path, my hand towards him in a calming fashion. Ember's Dad looked at us in anger and growled.
"You can't attack Sloan. He still has Ember. You need to calm down, or you'll never see your daughter again."
Toothless cooed at Ember's Dad to calm him down. The Burning Phoenix groaned in annoyance, but calmed down. With mutual understanding, we landed on the main ship.
"I thought I killed you." Sloan said, glaring at Ember's Dad. He growled at Sloan.
"Where's Ember, Sloan?" I snapped.
"She's in this room," Sloan gestures to the door behind him with a sinister smile. "Though you won't like what you find." I tightened my grip on Toothless's saddle. How dare he do this to Ember. My Ember.
"What do you want? We'll give you anything you want. You want me? You can have me! Just-"
Sloan began to chuckle darkly, before laughing and cackling like a maniac. By now, the rest of the group had joined on the boat and we were all confused at why what I said made him laugh so much.
"Y-you'd really give yourself up-hic- for a -hic- a person like her?! You-hic-truly are crazy!" Sloan had trouble trying to speak as he broke into another fit of laughter. Suddenly, as if a switch had flipped into his psychotic brain, he stopped laughing and placed his hands carefully behind his back.
"The hybrid you seek is not here anymore. She's nothing like the thing you once knew. She's a husk as far as I'm concerned. It's a miracle she's held on for this long, with everything she's done."
"She's done nothing! You made her do all that destruction!"
"Really? As a matter of fact dear boy, I have done nothing. She did it all by herself. She really is unpredictable. Her body may have given up on her as well. Not like anyone would miss her."
That does it. He was going to pay. I felt my breath get heavy and my eyes go red with anger. I was about to leap off Toothless and charge at Sloan, when Ember's Dad reacted first. He charged at the person responsible for all this suffering, and pinned Sloan to the ground. Sloan struggled against the larger dragon and tried to escape.
My heart clenched in fear at what Ember's Dad was about to do. Sloan deserves everything coming to him, but he shouldn't die.
"Stop!" I yelled as Ember's Dad clamped his mouth around Sloan's arm. The Burning Phoenix got off of Sloan and turned around.
"Please! I don't want to die!" The coward begged as he struggled against the dragon's mouth.
"He's not worth it," I walked up to him, and the power of Thor, punched Sloan's face. "Please let him go."
Ember's Dad rolled his eyes at me before flying off the boat and dropping him into the sea. I walked up to the door that Ember was supposedly behind.
"Ember? Are you okay?"
I got no reply. Only the faint sound of crying coming from within the room.
