Chapter 6

Ruby's POV:

One year later

It's been over a year since me and Alpha Lune saw each other. I read that mates shouldn't be apart from each other once they started the mate bond, but I still couldn't bring myself to face her. I know Lou been hurting from not being able to see our mate, but some things I just can't forget.

I'm running in the woods in my wolf form feeling the wind in my fur, ever since I shifted I been feeling amazing. Being in our wolf form seems to make Lou a little bit happy because she loves the woods just like me. I remember when I first shift.

Flashback

I was sitting in the middle of a meadow enjoying the wind and the beautiful sight that was in front of me when a pain ran through my body causing me to scream out in pain.

"Lou what's going on everything hurts." I cried out.

I screamed when I felt the bones in my legs and arms snap. I felt like I was being killed from the inside.

"Calm down a little Ruby, your first shift is happening. Let it take over your body."

I took some deep breaths and did as Lou said and let the shift take over, before it was finished I blacked out from all the pain my body was going through. I was never told how painful your first shift would be.

When I woke up there was a lady standing in front of me, I tried to take a step back but fell forgetting that I had just shifted and I was on all fours. I started growling at her and she just tilted her head to the side looking at me.

"Calm my child I'm not here to hurt you." The lady said.

I stared at her trying to find a way to talk to her because I didn't want to shift back and be naked in front of her.

"Use your mind and I will be able to hear you." She said.

"Who are you?" I questioned.

"I'm the only one who can give you the power to shift." She said calmly. My ears stood up and my eyes wide, there is no way this is the moon goddess herself. No one has ever seen what she looked like or even thought she was still alive. I bowed down to her giving her respect.

"There is no need to bow my child, a queen never bowed down to anyone else."

"I think you have the wrong werewolf, my goddess," I told her.

"I would know my child and her wolf when I see her."

I didn't think my eyes were able to get any wider. Did she just call me her child? I mean sure she is the moon goddess and all werewolves are her child, so of course, I'm her child.

"Well, you are the moon goddess and the mother of all werewolves, so I know that I am your child."

"Your right about that, but you are my child through blood."

I growled at her, she's lying there is no way I am hers my mother was killed years ago, and I was left to that bastard I called a father.

"Calm down and I will tell you the story of your life." She said.

I walked over to a tree and sat under it laying my head on top of my paws. I looked up to see the moon goddess taking a seat next to me.

"18 years ago, I had a daughter who I needed to protect from my own brother. He wanted to kill her because he knew once she was older she would be the next queen of all werewolves and he wanted to be the ruler of the werewolves. He was mad for power and I couldn't let my only child get killed."
