That night was filled with joy for the Rebellion. All around the moon, there were bonfires, music, food, and celebration over their most monumentous victory ever. Around one bonfire in an ewok village a group was extatically talking about their experiences.

"... and after planting a bolt into each of the engine blocks," Shadow continued, "they blew up. And after the generator bunker was destroyed, we took down several more walkers."

"... then we flew into each other's sights," Silver said, "and destroyed the fighters that were tailing both of us."

They continued their stories until they heard a screech followed by an explosion. They all looked to the sky and saw fireworks. They watched the sky at the spectacle. Ezra and Sabine were sitting on top of the Starbird watching the show. There was nothing to be said. Sabine was nearly asleep in Ezra's arms when they received a communication.

"Bridgers," said Senator Mon Mothma, "You have the permission of the Alliance to go ahead with your mission to free Mobius."

"Thank you," Ezra replied, "we'll let them know."

The hologram turned off. They went to the bonfire and saw everyone watching the show.

"Everyone," Sabine said, "We have excellent news."

"Oh, congratulations!" Rouge said, "Is it a boy or girl?"

"Wha--" Ezra said, "no it's something else! We have the go ahead."

"You mean?" Sonic said.

"We can finally go back to Mobius."

Everyone's spirit was revived at the news that they were going home. One of the several there separated from the group. Sonic seemed to be the only one to notice. He went over to the railing where the one was, watching the fireworks continue.

"Amy," he said, "is everything alright?"

"After we retake home," she said, "then what? Are you just going to go as you normally do? Except this time, go planet to planet?"

"Well..." He was slow to answer, "I... I honestly don't know. While, yes, the last couple of years planet hopping were fun, and, yes, I want to see more of the galaxy, I just... I don't know. Why--"

"You know why I'm asking," she interrupted, "you know how I feel about you. The thought of not being with you, not seeing you, not knowing where you are... it breaks my heart."

Sonic placed his hands on her shoulders.

"Amy," he said to her, "if I do leave for the rest of the galaxy, I wouldn't want to do it alone. Maybe... Maybe you could join me."

"I'd love to."

As the fireworks continued overhead, Sonic and Amy embraced. For the first time in ever, it was full of genuine love.
