Josh's POV
I sat in class tapping my fingers on my knees to the drum beat that was playing through my head, and trying to look like I was listening. But the truth was I couldn't get Tyler out of my head. He was so mysterious...and I couldn't figure him out. He seemed like he liked me alright...hmm...did he really?
...but oh my fuck his dimples and his cute smile...damn was he hot...I bet he'd look good in a skirt. I smirked to myself then.
I hadn't noticed the teacher calling my name until Brendon nudged my shoulder from behind me.
"Sorry,yes mrs. Carter?"
I answered her apologetically.
"Is something funny? Hmm? Would you like to stand up and tell the class? Or would you like to pay attention?"
I immediately answered that I would pay attention and apologized again.
But did I? No,I was too busy thinking about Tyler and what we would talk about...or do...once we got to my house. That is,until I could sense a pair of eyes watching me.
I felt someone's hot breath on my neck,
"You look really great today Josh...wanna come back to my house tonight?"
I recognized Brendon's voice as he hissed the words slowly, making my stomach churn. I really didn't like Brendon, we used to know each other...but that was back before-
The bell rang just then and I jumped as it scared me out of my thoughts. I got up and walked into the hallway ducking around the crowds of teens and snaking my way through them when neccessary to get to the doors that lead outside, and away from Brendon.Tyler's POV
I was in the hallway desperately trying to get to my locker until I bumped into a someone, hard.
"O-oh gawd i-i-im so s-so-sorry..."
I said as panic started to take over, and I reached down to pick up her books for her.
"No really it's alright dont worry!"
Said the blond smiling widely, before adding,
"Hey,you're Tyler aren't you? I'm Jenna! It's nice to meet you!"
I smiled nodding my head slightly, while handing her books and cherry chapstick back to her.
"N-nice to me-meet you t-too"
I tried to sound as normal as possible but my words came out shakily.
"Wait just a seco- you're the boy Brendon keeps bullying...I'm so sorry that he does that to you. You really dont deserve it,and I support you and everyone else in the LGBTQ+ community. So if you ever need me I'm always here for you Tyler,it doesn't matter if I'm sleeping or busy, hell,my house could be on fire and I would still be there for you okay?"
The blonde really had a mouth on her as she continued speaking. Tyler didnt mind that much though. It was nice to have someone carry the conversation so he didnt have to talk.
Then Jenna pulled out a purple pen and a piece of paper, scribbled down her number.
"Here, call me or text me if you ever need anything at all!"
I smiled and nodded again. Then I noticed the cherry chapstick in her hand again, thinking it might be a good idea to put something on my lips before meeting up with Josh, since they were faded and slightly chapped from chewing on them all day, thinking about him.
"Thank you...t-thats so ki-nd....i uhm..a-actually...do you th-think I could borrow some of your chapstick?"
I said getting quieter as the sentence continued.
"Absolutely,anytime!"
She replied handing it to me.I stood outside holding my sleeves down over my hands, waiting for Joshua, with my back pressed against one of the two brick columns that held the roof over the front entrance of the school up.
My lips now had a reddish-pink tint to them thanks to Jenna, and I hoped Josh would notice.
He walked quickly out of the school looking nervous and almost disoriented.
"H-hey...what's wro-ng...?"
I asked quietly, and genuinely concerned for him.
He smiled and brushed it off saying,
"Nothing at all,ready to go?"
I knew he was lying but I let him think I believed him.We decided to walk back to Josh's house, instead of taking the bus again. We talked about our favorite games ,songs, and movies, and pretty much anything that came to our minds...at least...anything that came to his mind...I had to filter the anxious, and suicidal thoughts out of my words.
We finally reached his house and he opened the door, calling out to his mom to tell her he was home.
Once again there was no reply. Then Josh remembered.
"Oh yeah, that's right my mom has a late shift today so she will be back home long after you've headed home...and my d-dad shouldn't be back here for a while..."
I noticed Josh's stutter on the word 'dad' and he hardly ever stuttered,I decided to take note of that.
He turned to face me then, looking me over from my shoulders up.
"Are you wearing chapstick?"
Josh slowly asked,as a smirk came across his lips.
"I- uhm... i-im...I didn-"
He then cut me off saying,
"Dont apologize,its really hot"
I blushed uncontrollably at that point, hoping he wouldn't notice. He did. The older boy then grabbed my right hand carefully, knowing the cuts were on the other wrist, and led me up the stairs and into the bathroom.
"Let's check on your arm again"
He said slowly, and I detected a bit of blue-i mean, sorrow in his voice, but he mostly seemed concerned.
He took out some cotton, putting rubbing alcohol on it and lightly pressing it to my wrist.
I winced and clenched my teeth together tightly.
"I'm sorry I'm trying to be careful I swear."
I nodded
"That's one hell of a jawline though...just saying."
I felt my ears heat up as my face flushed a pale pink, lingering on my nose and cheeks.
Josh finally finished and we headed to his room, still leading me by the hand until he flopped down pressing his back into the bed. I sat, and gently layed myself down beside him.
We sat there quietly, all except for the sound of my heart beating at around 1000bpm,until Josh finally broke the silence between us,but what he said made me quite uncomfortable, and very anxious, worried about his reaction."Tyler, are you gay?"
