Friday,
January 26, 2018"I'll be there in fifteen," he immediately hung up after the sound of his engine starting. His house isn't that far—let's say about a half an hour drive or a twenty minute walk if you decide to take a detour and a shortcut that I always use whenever coming over to his. Although I have to admit, it's been a while since I came visit—well he's literally visiting me every weekend for some reason.
Who needs a reason anyway? Everything's more lovely whenever he's around.
I brushed my hair the consecutive time and putting on a pair of earrings that Nicky bought me for our anniversary last year. Crystal clear, tiny yet mesmerising to look at no matter how many hours I spend standing and gazing on my reflection on the mirror. I don't care about the brand or price whenever he gave me something, its not about the value but its about the feelings and emotions embedded within the gift—forgive me for trying to be poetic and wise but I failed instead, I'm not really good when it comes to those kind of things.
Friday evening, your typical TGIF blabber in the morning and looking as radiant as heck knowing that weekend is just right around the corner. I'm free during the weekends most of the time unless Nicky decide to come over.
"You free tonight?"
"I guess? What's up?" I closed my locker and looked at him who was standing behind me with his hands in his pockets.
"I want to take you out for a movie—and dinner afterwards of course," his innocent face in addition with his pure angelic smile got me and the arctic iceberg melting for real. Of course I couldn't just leap to him and start squeezing the soul out him since its at school although my heart rate was constantly escalating like a rocket.
I swear I could feel myself smirking and holding back a smile.
"Sure, what movie are we watching?" I fidget.
He lightly smiled and took a step closer to me, lifting my chin with his hand. "You'll see that later," and landed a quick soft peck on my lips—yeah, I bet no one's going to realize that we're standing face to face in the hallway right in front of my locker where its still 07.30 in the morning and he dropped a 'care package' in public. Smooth.
I grabbed my handbag and kissed goodbye my reflection on the mirror who's wearing a white hoodie and jeans of the same color. Its just a movie and a dinner anyway, why would I need to wear a fancy looking dress or some Disney Princess dress that is about three meters in length hence requiring me to drag it all over the floor.
"I'm ready," I texted him and head down the stairs, placing my phone in my pocket. The TV was on, I bet Rath forgot to turn it off yet again. His either crawled up in his room playing with his usual mates or staying the night at one of them—usual. I walked towards the kitchen and opened the fridge, treating myself to a glass of cold milk and a piece of chocolate that I haven't finished eating last night.
"Lu, I'm here," his text notification came in. I placed the chocolate bar back on the fridge and the glass on the counter before heading out the door where Nicky was leaning against the door of his car looking cute like he would always be.
"Hoodie..and jeans?" his eyes rolled after taking a quick scan at me. "You're expecting me in a towel?" I responded.
"Not quite, well I was expecting something exquisite, say, you in a gorgeous looking dress?"
"—babe, I'm gorgeous already, you know that," I cut.
Nicky chuckled and walked towards me, "Can't deny that. Although having you standing right here in front of me using a thin towel wouldn't be that bad would it be, Lu?" he lift my chin once more like he did this morning and gave a second peck of the day that I gladly responded to this time.
