Looking at myself on the mirror for the thousandth time, I twirled once and stopped, examining on my reflection that stared back.

I brushed off my shoulders and straightened my dress. Gently touching my eyes with my fingers to make sure there are no falling eyelashes.

The red dress that I'm currently wearing was still fresh from the shop, so the scent of new clothing still lingers. It looked beautiful nonetheless, it's been a while since I've actually wore a dress to prom. More like, I've never been to prom.

Not because I don't have a date or something but, well.

Let's just say no one had the audacity to actually ask me out and neither do I.

"Stop being so anxious, you look gorgeous sweetie," Dawn's reflection on the mirror talked to me as she continued to tie her hair back.

"You need some help?" I turned back and approached Dawn who was sitting on the other side of the room.

"Yes please," she handed the pink flowered hair tie which I gladly took.

I started by straightening her hair, it's flawless alright. I began to collect her hair into one point and started to style her hair. "Pony or bun?"

"Pony," she answered.

Her hair was as smooth as silk. The fragrance it gave was not something you could smell everyday. Dawn had just got her ear piercings the other day which was finally granted after weeks of contemplating and anxiety of watching gore videos of failed piercings on YouTube. But thankfully, it ended well.

She did screamed like a siren at the clinic though.

"Ouch be careful!" Dawn exclaimed as her head twitches in pain and I responsively move my hands at a slower pace.

She leaned forward and examined herself on the mirror. Tilting her head from left to right and touching the ponytail I just made. The earrings she wore was beautiful, I handpicked them myself while she was getting her ears pierced.

A tiny white flower earring really matched her looks I thought back then. And in fact, it really does.

Now that I think about it, I've never actually had the idea of Dawn having a feminine side. Cause like, you know, the first time I met her she looked like a ruffian or some barbaric chick that goes to school and just literally thrashes everything.

Well now I guess it's safe to say that the joke is on me, first impression doesn't always show the big picture.

"What? Stop looking at me like that, do I look weird in this earrings? I do don't I? Tell me the truth. You think I should take it off? Or should I not? Wait, I'll just take it off. But no, I look better with it," Dawn continued her mirror monologue acting fidgety and indecisive. She took the earrings off a couple of times, but used it again afterwards.

This could go on for hours trust me.

"Nooo, stop worrying about it, you look perfect. Now come on before we're running late," I gave her a pat on the shoulder and kissed her cheek. For your information, it's a completely normal thing. You boys wouldn't understand. It doesn't mean that we're going to eat each other just so you know.

I grabbed my purse of the same color as my dress and had my last look on the mirror. Being all skeptical of looking proper, I tapped the side of my lips where it seemed that the lipstick was a little off.
It may have been just my imagination.
