Song that helped me create this chapter in the media. :)
Tongan Dictionary:
Hoi: The Tongan version of a sigh, but instead of just breathing in & out like your average *sigh*, people use the word "hoi"*Back to Fina's P.O.V.*
It was currently half past ten and I was home all by myself. My dad started his new job today, and my mom got dropped off to see some cousins she hasn't seen since she was younger. Why didn't she take me you ask? To answer your question, I'm confused and slightly offended myself. Of course my siblings went to school, which left me by myself at home in the middle of London. I sigh and plop myself on the couch, staring at the ceiling thinking of things to do. A lightbulb immediately lit up in my mind and I grabbed my phone, trying to FaceTime Pono.
"Hey best! It's about time you called me." My best friend exaggerates over the phone. I grin from ear to ear, so happy to see my best friend.
"Pono Girl, how have you been? I miss you so much, you don't even know. Sorry for not calling, it took me time to settle in." I apologized.
"Don't be silly, it's all good sis. And I'm doing fine, you know still living my best life as always." Pono winks, causing me to laugh.
"How are you though? Oh my hell, how's London Fina? From Anuhea's posts on the gram, it looks like y'all having a blast." My best friend continues.
"I mean, it's alright. I like how everyone here minds their own business. But that's probably the only good thing about this place." I retort, heaving a sad sigh.
"Stop being such a Debby Downer, Fina. Have you made any friends? I think that's what you need; some company your age." Pono suggests. My mind automatically traced back to Samuel, considering him a friend. Speaking of him, I needed to text him back.
"I met someone a couple of days ago, he's so fly. Super genuine and so full of life. Man Pono, we got along straight off the bat it was craaazy how good we got along when we first met. He's really handsome too. Dark hair, blue eyes, a maaaaddd charming smile. He's kind and quite the looker." I say as I smile at my best friend, who's eyes sparkled on my screen.
"Seems more like you like him, or should I say fancy him. What's his name?" A knowingly smirk spreads across Pono's face. I feel my eye twitch and roll my eyes.
"Okay can you stop looking at me like that? Plus, I don't fancy him, I just really enjoy his presence. He's just a really nice guy. And his name is Samuel Clark." I state, eyeing out Pono, getting ready for whatever she had next to say.
"Hmmm, just a really nice and handsome guy. Suuuure. I'll find him on social media later. Anything new- besides you needing to make at least a Snapchat or Instagram account?" Pono questions. I press my lips into a fine thin line and mumble a quick 'here we go again'. I really couldn't be bothered with social media because it takes so much of one's time without them knowing. Plus, nonstop drama always starts by unnecessary words being thrown around ON social media. That's why I never really considered on even thinking about making any social media accounts. Unless you count YouTube which isn't really social media, because I only watch Korean dramas illegally off of YouTube and watch the most random videos. But who doesn't do that?
"First of all, you already know I don't like all the mess that happens out on social media. Point blank period. Second, I ran into Ziggy the first day we arrived. Pono, he's gotten so handsome sometimes I question if it's the same Ziggy we grew up with." I chuckle, remembering as I saw him again for the first time in ages. Pono's eyes widen in shock when she hears Ziggy's name.
