"Alex!" The short girl burst in through the Prince's door way without the decency to knock. Not that it made much difference because Alex was only sat at his desk desperately wracking his brain for a way to get Jack out of this. Maybe he was still crying a little too.
His eyes popped up, looking expectantly at Taylor. Her eyes were wide with panic and her breathing was heavy as she'd clearly run from her chambers over to Alex's, lips parting slightly to show for it. They words that tumbled past them next though had Alex in such a state he didn't think he'd ever be able to breath again. They said, "Alex, Jack's execution has been moved forward. Peter isn't waiting till noon, they're taking him out now."
He didn't catch the rest of her sentence for he was in sheer panic. He'd been hoping to come up with a plan within the next two hours to get him out of this but now that Jack's execution had been moved forward there wasn't a single thought running through Alex's brain another than dread. He felt acid rising to his throat.
He sobbed and sobbed, shaking uncontrollably and this was absolutely no way to be spending his 21st birthday. "What are we gunna do!" He shrieked. "He can't die." He thought he was going to be sick.
"I-I think I have an idea." Alex's head snapped up faster than the speed of light. "And I'm going to be in so much trouble so you gotta promise me that if I do this you'll keep you and Jack a real secret otherwise he definitely will be killed, probably along with me."
Alex nodded his head violently, "yes, yes. Please Taylor. I promise just get him out of this."

Peter was stood on his balcony like usual, admiring his Kingdom with a stern face. His heart was cold and even his poor dear wife was getting bored of it. She daren't argue with him though, because for one his mind was set and two, her opinion really didn't matter to him anymore. She was completely out of love with him which is why she felt so strongly about keeping this Jack boy alive.
Isobel had seen a clear improvement in Alex's attitude in the past few months and could really only now put it down to Jack. She liked to see her son happy and wished instead of having this boy slaughtered, she could thank him for making Alex brighter and more full of life. She too, along with Taylor, had suspected the pairing but didn't bother herself to find out because it was none of her business who her son saw fit to marry and if that was a boy, then so be it.
Her face was pale as she stood next to Peter out in the sunlight. Had she had a choice she would not be here but being Queem she was expected to attend these things--even if it made her feel sick.
She sighed dramatically as her husband did his usual speech on the awfulness of magic and had to avert her eyes from the crying raven haired boy being tied to the wooden stack. He looked utterly broken and she couldn't even bare to think how either him or Alexander felt right now.
The torch was being bought forwards and her eyes closed. This was it. The screams were sure to ensue. Only, there was a shuffling and commotion below and a screaming Tay ran through the clusters of gathered people. "Wait! Wait!" She called.
Peter frowned, expression turning from stone cold to angry in an instant. "Taylor Jardine get out of the way immediately!" He boomed.
"No wait! He's not a sorcerer, you can't kill him. I-it was me. I did it." She called, heart racing and arms visibly shaking. She was going to be in so much trouble.
Peter's angry expression didn't change. "Taylor get out the way."
"No! No I did it you can't kill an innocent boy, I'm sorry it was me."
