Chapter 8: Plan B

James POV:

Watching them take her was the most painful thing I had to endure in my twenty-five years of life. It was more painful than the long years I spent trying to find her and more painful than watching her run away from me. Eon was my everything.

I grunt in frustration as my own father gave the order for the men of my own pack to hold me down while they take her away.

“Let him go.” The moment the grips on my body loosen, I torn away from them. In my frustration, I grab Eric who was one of the men who had held me down and punch in across the face.

“Enough James, compose yourself.” My mood was not going to improve until I could touch the softness of her skin again. I ignore my father and turn to follow her. The air was still fresh with her scent.

“James where are you going!?” My father was my alpha but I was not going to lose my mate when I search so long for her. My father growl and rush in front of me. I return the growl, my inner wolf was not happy that she was taken from me.

“I have to get her back.”

“Will you listen to reason James. If you follow her now, Harpoon will kill you upon sight.” I did not care, all that seem to occupy my mind was the fact that Eon was not there with me. The feeling of being apart from her was killing my mind.

“I don’t care. I fear losing her most.” I knew my father was trying to help me but my head was only filled with images of Eon.

“I understand how you feel son, she is your mate. However, right now, Eon does not believe it to be so and you have to understand, she is special that is why her whole pack is protecting her.”

“I did not choose her because she was special, I chose her because she was my mate.” My father sigh deeply and I knew I was killing my father by being unreasonable but right now, I could not control my thoughts and feelings. I burn to have Eon in my arms, holding her and marking her as mine.

“Nevertheless, Eon is special. Harpoon is not going to budge in this matter unless we push his hand. You have to hold your anger and feelings aside. I going to call for the council and we will settle this matter.” I was not going to settle with my father’s promise of getting her back through the council. I found her before, I can find her again and bring her back.

“No. I will go tonight.” My father punch me across the face. I turn to look at my father in disbelief. The old man was angry.

“You think you can just walk into  Stargaze territory and bring Eon back without consequences. God dammit boy, use your head. Bringing her back here is calling for war. Think of the pack.” I was being selfish. I turn to look at the other men. Almost all of them were married and had children at home waiting for them. I knew if I brought Eon back, I was jeopardizing the pack. Then I truly be the ‘animal’ that Eon hate. My hands tighten into fist and slam it into the tree in frustration.

“Don’t worry son, well get her back. By law she is your wife, the council will return her to us.” I nod to my father’s words but the lingering smell of Eon in the wind was making my heart ache.

Eon’s POV:

I woke up, it was early morning. When I move under the blanket, I winch in pain. It was a reminder of what had come to pass in the last couple days of my life. I was still in disbelief. One day I was inCaliforniaworking thirty hour shifts and the next, I was home again. Then I took my mind away from that subject and look around.
