Chapter 3: Visitation

“Eon! Eon wake up.” I sluggish woke up, rubbing my eyes as I sat up to look at my friend Mary.

“Hey, Mary. Is something wrong?” I had just finished a thirty-six hour shift and instead of going home to sleep, have decided to take a nap in one of the night-bed at the hospital. This was normal for interns.

Mary sat down next to me and pinch me in the arm, making me winch and rub my skin while looking at her sheepishly.

“Why what was that for?” Mary squinted her eyes at me, as trying to read my thoughts. “Yeah you can stop the creepy look.”

Mary sigh and cross her arms. “You said you didn’t have time for a relationship, brushing all my efforts away but your boyfriend is here to see you.”

It took me a moment to register what Mary was saying, still rubbing my arm where she had pinch. I shook my head.

“I don’t have a boyfriend.” Mary fake a sour look.

“Then who is that heart-throb waiting for you in the staff room.” I was confuse, maybe it was prank by the staff.

“Harry and you are pulling a prank on me right?” I turn to look at Mary, she scoff at my question.

“What would I do that?” She defended herself but then quickly sit back down next to me and smile. “If he’s not yours then does that mean he is free.”

I laugh and Mary’s evil look return.

“Sure you can have him but I guess Harry will have to kill him.” I was joking but I knew better, Harry was a good five foot nine of steel power. I have seen too many fights where he defended his vocal girlfriend to know. Of course, there was times when I have to intervene because the odds were against him and he was my good friend. Harry always assume I was just a good fighter and dodger, never noticing the extra strength I had.

Nonchalantly Mary dismiss the comment I made. “Harry can’t win against him.”

My face was a big “oh,” Mary tend to brag about Harry’s strength and for her to say that he was no match for this person, was not new but rare.

“Okay, enough joking, where is this person? He might just have the wrong person.” Mary was still giving me the suspicious look at we walk down the hallway and open the door to the staff room.

I was hit by a wave of loud chattering, apparently all the female nurse and doctors that weren’t on call were inside, surrounding one table in particular. Mary quickly ran in to join the crowd. I sigh, she was hopeless. I walk to where the crowd was most concentrated and could just laugh at the jealousy look the men in the room was throwing towards this stranger.

“Ahem!” I cough loudly, none of the girls turn around. “Okay girls, enough give him some room.” I said and wave for the woman to leave. They all pouted and instead of leaving, they move out towards the surround table to watch with the men. When the Great of Women finally disappear, I smile in my mind.

Boy, was Mary right. The man sitting in the chair in front of me was an walking artwork. He was least six feet tall, a little muscular than lean but just the right amount of muscle everywhere. Dress in a black shirt and dark pants, matching with the mysterious mood his dark brown hair and sharp facial features gave, he was incredibly handsome and expel an aura of sexiness. But in his sharp green eyes, I thought I could feel something, although he was what every human woman would want, I knew instantly he was dangerous.
