Chapter 十五
He's a VampireMy eyes were wide, shock had rendered my mind a blank. Standing in the moonlight, black Day-Class uniform stained in blood was the boy who had taken my ribbon days ago. "What's wrong, little princess? Did my secret surprise you?" I was frozen in place, it was as if my powers had suddenly betrayed me, even as he walked over lazily and cupped my cheek in the palm of his gloved hand. "Well this is a pain bit of trouble," he was muttering to himself, his kind voice from my memory being shattered by one of a lower and more laxed tone, "oh, I know." He seemed to get an idea, though he also looked like he didn't want to fall though with whatever it was. "This will be a pain, but you running your silent mouth will be more trouble."
I watched as he brought his other hand up to his lips, his finger-less gloves left his thumb exposed. His fangs glided on the pad of his thumb, drawing a line of blood from it, and as quick as the blood flowed, it was suddenly pressed against my own lips, sealing them shut and coating them in his crimson. "I give you a voice, in turn you give me your soul. May this bond I form, this thread I tether, be strong and true. With the wind as our witness, the moon our blessing, I bind you to what was long since lost, long since stolen, and ask for your loyalty in return." The spell he spoke flowed as smooth as water, his thumb now leaving a line as it glided down to grip my chin and tilt my face up to be lost in the eyes that were like mine in every way but life.
The chime of a bell echoed in the breeze as his lips locked with mine, the taste of his blood being pushed through as his tongue forced its passage and egged my own on to play and forcing me to swallow his blood. When he pulled away, I felt a burning in my throat, a glow of a magic circle now tatted on the centre of my neck.
The burning settled down to a warm buzz, and I finally snapped out of my frozen state, pushing him back and away. "What the hell did you-" my eyes widened at the sounds flowing from my lips, "-my voice... how did you-why did you-what the absolute hell did you do?!"
Hiro looked at me before slowly taking out the earbuds I hadn't noticed him wearing. ❝What was that? Sorry, I wasn't really listening.❞ He wasn't mocking me, he was ignoring me! "Anyways, I gave you back your voice, I have dark magic like that. Cue the sparkles and pastel background~! Now you belong to me in return for that service."
"I what?!"
"He means that you've been contracted, you're his familiar now." Uncle came out of nowhere, now sitting on a rock near me and pawing at his head. "Congratulations, kid, you've fallen from royalty to the status of a familiar to a twenty-one year old vampire that's too lazy for this world to even comprehend."
"Where the hell did you pop out from?!" I jumped in shock, now remembering that I was in this situation because I had chased after him.
Uncle simply looked at me with a dull expression. "I don't remember you being this chatty or loud, time flies but it seems you've been frozen in place." Uncle walked over to Hiro, who was now leaning against a tree and watching me from a distance. "Now, Morgan, what is with you calling yourself 'Hiro' all of a sudden and why are you here?"
Hiro--or Morgan I guess, I'm getting so confused--looked down at uncle's cat form, his lazy expression stuck on his face like a magnet to a fridge. "I'm here to break the Vampire Knight's Curse."
