Chapter 六
Greetings

I now stood at the front of the classroom, waiting for the teacher to arrive. I had been informed that this teacher had yet to be informed of me so I wanted to formally introduce myself. Asato had made it a point to nail in mannerism into me and I wasn't about to put all those hours of boring lectures to waste.

The teacher finally entered the room and took long strides towards me. The famed hunter Toga Yagari. I gave an innocent smile and held up my message to him, just high enough to cover half my face as I looked up at the tall man. 'Hello, my name is Ryda. I represent the Senate.' I turned to page, 'It is nice to meet you, sensei.' The man stared down at me with a cold stare from his one visible eyes before grunting and ushering me to take my seat.

There was really only one empty seat left to I went to it and pointed to it when the boy next to it looked at me. He gave me a friendly smile. "Go ahead, Miss. Ryda."

I smiled back and sat down, writing him a message in my book. 'Just call me 'Ryda' anything else will make me feel old.' He chuckled at this but nodded in agreement. We then both turned our attention back to the front of the room, paying close attention to what the hunter was teaching.

Class was interesting, most of the time there was an interruption every few minutes of someone trying to stab the new teacher with a throwing knife or hit him with a heavy book. Right now I was making my way to my next class for the night, but something that caught my eye made me stop in my tracks. A girl wearing a Day Class uniform was sitting under a nearby tree, the smell of blood coming from her. I walked over to the girl and stood in front of her, crouching down to be at eye level with the injured human. 'Are you alright?' I wrote down on my notebook and showed it to her.

The girl read my question with an odd look on her face, but she didn't question me. She looked at me with glassy, light brown eyes. "I tripped on my way back to the dorms, I accidently fell asleep in the library so now I'm way past curfew. Please don't tell the guardians, I'll get in a lot of trouble." From the calm in her heartbeat that I could hear I knew she was telling the truth. The spew of library books around her also helped her case.

I gave her a flash of a friendly smile. 'Alright, would you like me to help you back to your dorm? You're ankle looks like it really hurts.'

She gratefully accepted my offer to help and so I helped gather her books into her bag and then supported her by letting her use me as a sort of crutch. The only time my short stature was useful. She pointed out the way as we went along, apparently she knew I was new since, according to her, word travels fast among students at this academy.

We were not too far away from the dorm when we were stopped by a silver haired male who was the guardian of the school. "Eek! It's Zero... why him out of the two we could have run into... man, I am so screwed." The girl grumbled under her breath, causing me to silently chuckle. I had her lean against a tree on her own and gave her a wink, without the silver haired boy seeing, and turned to walk up to him.

I scribbled in my notebook quickly before turning it around to show him my message. 'She was hurt on her way back to the dorm, I'm bringing her back safe and sound. Don't worry, no blood was spilled via fangs and stupid.' The boy glared at me with a cold look that told me he wanted nothing more than to plunge a bullet into my head. I wasn't phased by his cold glare, however, and just kept up my soft smile. My former masters had glared at me more harshly than he could ever be able to currently muster.

After our little staring contest the young hunter brought his hand out from the inner pocket of his jacket and grunted before turning to leave. Guess I won that round. After I got the girl to the door of the sun dorm I took my leave back to the moon dorms, it had taken longer for me to get that girl back to her dorm than I had expected, but not much could have happened with the Night Class while I was gone... hopefully.

After a nice three hour sleep I was awoken with a loud knock at my door. I grunted as I forced my tired body out of bed to answer the angry knocks. I opened the door to my private dorm room to reveal the vampire girl with long wavy hair--I believe she is cousins with Hanabusa. "Lord Kaname wants to see you in his room." She told me bitterly before disappearing from my sight. She didn't seem to like me much.

Shrugging off the rudeness of the girl I grabbed a blanket scarf and wrapped it around myself to keep warm before leaving my room to head to Kuran's as requested. I didn't bother to knock, instead I just opened the unlocked door and strolled in casually--book and pen in hand while my mismatched eyes glowed a uniformed white. 'You wanted to see me?'

The Pureblood that sat on a loveseat across the room replied to my glowing eyes with a red glow of his own, the moonlight coming from the lattice windows behind him illuminating an air of erri mystery to the atmosphere. "Ryda, how are you still alive?" He began, not cutting any corners and getting straight to the point, even using his abilities to slam the door shut behind me.

So he is finally questioning me. I thought to myself, keeping my expression innocent and unwavering. About time, I was beginning to think he'd forgotten my face. I stood still in my spot, not wanting to go anywhere near the man. I scribbled down on my notebook in a calm manner, not a single trace of a tremble from my body.

'I'm surprised you remembered me. How I survived that day could have been the same as to how I survived that attack that cost Yukina her life, or perhaps I was simply stronger than you all pinned me for.' I turned the page on my notebook to reveal my next message. 'If that is all you wished to discuss, than I have no reason to continue this conversation. I have no reason to reveal to you my whereabouts and nor should you care.'

As I turned to leave the door, a sharp piece of glass was thrown; aimed straight for the back of my head. A wall of snow formed in midair and stopped the shard in its path, just a few inches away from my skull. I looked over my shoulder to give the high and mighty Kuran a blank stare before taking my leave of the room. He has grown to become quite impatient.

Hey guys! Update was a little slower than I wanted this time around, sorry about that.

I caught a pretty bad cold, and my stubborn a$$ still went out with friends twice because my pride wouldn't let me bail on them. So yeah. Needless to say my cold did get worse, coupled with standing out in the snow for a good fifteen waiting to be let inside to take my final exam, and I've been a sick ball of yuck for the past week and a half.
Great way to spend my winter break before the winter term starts...

Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed and a happy holiday to you all♡
