"Huh?"

"You're kind of early... but come in."

"What—"

Behind Tsukishima holding the  door was Yui, a face you'd never think you'd see at his place. You awkwardly took a step in, removing your shoes and jacket. 'I shouldn't get the wrong idea but...'

You stared her up and down after stationing yourself on the black leather couch; she had nothing but a baggy white T-shirt most likely provided by Tsukishima on her body.

You awkwardly sat in front of the female drying her hair, she seemed just as surprised as you. "Oh, (Y/N), hey! What are you doing here?" She asked as you tapped your bag impatiently. "I'm here to talk to Tsuki."

"Then... maybe I shouldn't be here? Sorry, I'll wait for my clothes to dry then I'll—"

"What happened? Why are you even here?" You leaned in, gesturing for her to move in closer. "Don't tell me... you like him?" You gasped and backed away, covering your mouth dramatically.

Yui's face glowed a bright red. Though she denied it, it was obvious to you she had feelings for him. "I-I do not! Why would I like a guy like him? He's boring!"

The blonde's arm extended from behind Yui, leaving a white cup on the coffee table. "Oh? Then why did you con—" Yui grabbed his arm after he sat down the cup, pulling him over the couch. Her hand ended up covering his lips, hushing him forcefully. You stared and picked up your tea, gazing at the brown liquid.

"I should go, this could always wait..." You muttered, setting down the cup. You didn't take not one sip of the sweet tea he prepared for you, you had no desire to drink it at the moment.

Tsukishima moved Yui's hand, adjusting his body. "Well you're already here, why don't you stay? If Yui's company is bothering you, I could always kick her out." He stated.

"No, it's fine, thank you for the tea..." You cooed, standing up. With a bow, you turned on your heel, heading for the door. Yui smirked, crossing her arms, cocking her head to the side.

Tsukishima, on the other hand, popped up from his seat, stumbling towards you. His toe hit one of the legs supporting the coffee table, causing him discomfort. For a few seconds, he held his foot, gritting his teeth in pain. Yui shot up, gently holding him up by the arms.

He shoved her away, and continued to pursue you. His hand targeted yours, taking it in desperation.

"Please wait."

'Please? That's a word I never thought I'd hear from him before...'

The glistening light reflected in his eyes, along with a bit of sorrow. It seemed as if he was holding something back he's been longing to get out. "You can stay the night if you'd like, it's late anyway, you shouldn't walk home by yourself."

"I mean, I could always call Kairi or Kaito, or you could just walk me?" He was stubborn, and wasn't planning on letting you leave for some odd reason.

You sighed, finally giving in. "I don't have a change of clothes or anything... Are you sure it's really okay?" You asked, needing some reassurance. Tsukishima decided to let go of your hand, nodding his head. "Yeah. And if you really feel like you need to change, just wear my clothes. Though they'll be sort of big."

"Sort of?" You giggled, walking back into the living room. Yui wasn't there, you were the first to notice. "Um, so where did—"

"Did you not like your tea by the way? You didn't drink it." Before you could finish, his deep voice snipped through yours as if it was a thin piece string. "No, that's not it! I wasn't really in the mood because... I don't know..." You fibbed, rubbing the nape of your neck.

He didn't want to pry any further, so moved on to another topic. "...Are you and Kairi actually a thing?" Tsukishima sat down and crossed his arms, smirking. "(Y/N), I mean honestly, you could do so much better. He's so arrogant it's sickening."

"No! Well, sort of... We're not in a real, official relationship. I'm pretending to date him for a while to show Kai he isn't the bad person he thinks he is. Kairi's his older brother, he should be kind towards him." You explained, parking a seat next to him. It was odd of him to be so understanding and curious.

His expression went straight back to stone, staring at the ring wrapped around your ring finger. "You realize that won't prove a thing, right? And even if you're doing all this for a good cause, it's obvious Kairi is playing you."

You parted your lips to speak, but he raised his index finger to stop you. "Also, just think about it. Kaito pretty much grew up with the guy, so he knows and probably saw way more than you. So he's probably right."

You gazed and glared and stared, giving him all kinds of signals; threats, belief and criticism. "I guess you're right but I still want to try. If he turns out to actually be up to no good then... I owe you and Kai dinner. 'Kay?"

He gazed at the ceiling for a while before looking back down at you, agreeing. "Sounds good." You smiled and picked back up the semi-cold cup of tea, taking a sip. It was surprising good— which was the only things you knew he could make perfectly so far.

There was a long pause of silence until Tsukishima broke it with a question. "Wait, where's Yui?" He asked, jumping up. You couldn't even say a word since he instantly made a dash for the bathroom not too far from the living room.

There was still no sign of her, so he checked his brother's room instead— since it was closer. You followed behind him, peeking into the small room from behind him. "Oh, hey, need som—"

He was too good at leaving people hanging, always cutting others off. "Who was that?" You asked, referring back to the male sitting in his chair near his desk. "My brother. Don't even let him know you're here." He demanded in a harsh tone as he continued.

You somehow expected this— to see Yui in his room. But what she was doing, however, was something you didn't expect.
