"What?" He asked, seeking more reassurance. His expression seemed pained and surprised, and he was forcing back his tears.

"I'm not sure if it's official yet, I'll have to check with him again... I thought Kairi told you?" You said, gazing at him.

As the sparkler went out, Kaito dropped his with a frown growing on his face. Almost in an instant, he stood up, rushing to Tsukishima. He didn't hesitate to grab him by the collar, picking him up.

"Damn you!" He shouted, pulling back his right arm, and balled his hand up into a fist. "Kai!" You yelled, dashing towards him. You made it in time to grab his arm, trying to tug it back. "Why are you getting so angry?! He did nothing wrong!"

All eyes were on the three of you, Kairi was just loving it up in the corner with his girlfriend. She seemed to be enjoying it too; that's probably what makes them a good couple.

Kaito's ocean blue eyes pierced through Tsukishima golden-brown ones, eventually moving away. "There goes Kaito again, making a big scene." Said one of his male friends, chuckling afterwards.

"He's gonna run in three... two... one..." Said another, but it was a female. And just as she predicted, he marched off in anger, heading into the spacious lodge.

"Kai! Wait!" You bellowed, trailing behind him. He classmates giggled and chuckled, going back to their party.

"I hope he never changes."

"Same! And it'll be pretty lame without the two of them..."

Kairi then took initiative, clapping his hands. "Alright everyone! Who's ready for the big ones?" He smirked, opening his trunk to his luxurious black car. He then whipped out fireworks like no others, exciting the crowd.

"Aren't you going to go with your girlfriend Tsuki?" Yui asked, and Tsukishima shook his head. "No, that's not a smart idea. I'll let them solve it themselves."

"Kai! Stop walking so fast!" You panted, grabbing his hand. "What's wrong? Did he say something that offended you?" Despite the question, he stood quietly, his eyes focused on the floor. "Kai, you can talk to me you know..."

"(Y/N)," He began, turning around to look at you. "You should know something." After pulling your hand away, your eyes met his, curious as to what he'd tell you. "What is it?"

He clenched his fists tightly as a faint pink scattered on his cheeks, frustrated because he couldn't muster out the words.

"I..." He said, almost glaring. "Lo-" Though Before Kaito could finish, the fireworks Kairi brought in went off, so you were unable to hear him. "What was that?"

It his eyes darted to the floor as he sighed, waiting until the fireworks stopped. Once it did, he repeated himself. "I— I love you." Though yet again, Kairi's little surprises went off, but you still heard every word he said.

Since you were unsure of how to respond, you stumbled back, placing your palm on the windowsill with an excuse.

"I can't hear you, the fire..."

To your surprise, Kaito grabbed you by the waist, his masculine arms squeezing you apart. "I love you, (Y/N). Please, don't leave me for someone else. You and I both know we need each other..." His voice was soft and fragile. You thought that if you said the wrong thing, he'd break in an instant.
