"So, I have a question Tsuki..." You whispered, helping him fold up the futon. Though there was no need, Yui was in the bathroom brightening her already glowing looks.
"Ask away." He nodded, waiting for you to proceed with your question. "Well I was just wondering if... we're... you know..." You felt your cheeks begin to burn, hoping he'd catch on.
"Dating?"
"Y-Yes! Dating... I mean, I'm totally cool with being friends still and all but I was just cur-"
The other placed a small kiss on your bottom lip. And after sending you into complete shock, he took the futon you helped fold out your hands, carrying it to the closet. "That should answer your question, yeah? Just don't tell anyone, I want them to find out on their own."
You frantically shook your head, regaining your focus. Currently, you were once again at Kairi's place with another lunch for him since he didn't attend school that day.
You inhaled, then let out a long breath, angrily knocking on the male's apartment door. It took a while for him to answer, But nonetheless, Kairi didn't open the door. "What do you want this time?" He asked. You could hear him leaning himself against the door as he spoke.
"I've brought you lunch again! And for a teacher you sure do slack off a lot. Are you even grading our work correctly? I'm surprised I have an A in your in class—" Kairi sighed on the other end, opening the door.
"Thanks for the lunch." His lips curled into this mocking smile you disliked, and it seemed like an act as he took ahold of the box wrapped into a cloth.
"Huh? Oh- wait!" Before he could shut the door all the way, you slipped hand through the door, feeling nothing but pain and regret. A chill shot through your body, the male who seemed to have fractured your hand eyes widened. Soon, he'd break out into laughter, launching open the door.
"You're really persistent, you know that?" He chuckled, taking a look at your hand. "It's not that bad, you'll live."
"Just... eat please..." You said in agony, pulling back your hand. "Why? You worried?" He asked, inviting you in. You learned from your mistake last time, so you declined his offer. "Of course I am! You're my friend after all... And I also need to talk to you about a few things."
Kairi raised a brow, shifting his weight onto his doorframe. "Alright, I'm all ears. Get to talking." You honestly had no idea how to start, maybe a quick summary of what happened would do the trick.
You filled him in on everything that happened between you and Tsukishima. And as you explained everything, he nodded, though the look of disappointment never left his features.
"Huh, I see." He angrily shoved you back a little to help the small animal leave his apartment. "Wanna know the truth? I never liked you, I only decided to bother you so I can get under To-in's skin. You're not my type." His harsh words snipped through yours like a smooth cloth, it stung more than you expected.
"W-Well I don't care! It's not like I had feelings for you anyway. I just wanted to let you know." You huffed, spinning on your heel. "That's the last meal I'll be making for you Kairi... so enjoy." With confidence, you began to strut off until he grabbed your arm with his other hand, twirling you back around.
"So is this really goodbye? I thought I'd be the one leaving your first." He coldly replied, moving his hand from your arm to the top of your head. "What do you me-"
There was no need to get too embarrassed, it wasn't Tsukishima after all. Kairi pushed up your hair that laid on your forehead, planting a kiss on it, then moved to your cheek— then your lips.
"Not as exciting as last time, you're such a turn off." He fibbed, crossing his arms and averting his gaze. From being flustered to bullied, you scoffed, wiping your lips. "Jerk. Whatever, bye!" And with that, you ran away, not even taking a single glance back.
The blonde standing at his apartment door waved with a smile on his face, but stopped once a frown took over. "Guess my time here is up, the food smells good though." He stretched, closing the door afterwards.
Kai to the Ri-Ri: Little bro! Wanna hear something funny?
To-in: Why don't you tell me a joke another time? And actually in person?
Kai to the Ri-Ri: How did Kaito manage to get his childhood crush to like him?
To-in: Wait, what?!
To-in: (Y/N) likes me? Where is she?
Kai to the Ri-Ri: Oh wait, he didn't :p
"This little sh..." Kaito was startled by the voice he heard in his living room, and slowly made his way towards you. "He's in his room right now, I'll go get— oh, Kaito! (Y/N) is here to speak to you." Said his mother. He wasn't really looking his best, so you sort of felt bad for intruding.
"Hey..." You awkwardly waved, he nodded back. His mother dismissed herself to let the two of you converse; maybe it was the vibes you both were giving off.
"So um, how've you been? We kinda fell off a little..." You said, fidgeting with your fingers. "I know. There's a lot going on right now, so I barely have time to socialize." He rubbed his head with a smile, he stroked the back of his head. You wondered why he lied to you, since you've seen him laughing it off with students in class.
"That's good! And here's a flyer for the firework party I'm throwing for our class. It's for the upperclassmen who are graduating this year. You don't have to show, but I hope you will." You said as you held out the piece of folded paper.
He grasped it with gratitude and nodded, observing how the flyer was decorated. It was somewhat girly, which is why he chuckled. "What's funny?" You asked, puffing your cheeks.
Kaito waved his hand and shook his head, brushing it off as if it was nothing. "Anyway, who all will be there?" He asked after clearing his throat.
You glanced up at the ceiling placing a finger on your bottom lip, trying to recall the names of everyone attending. "Definitely the upperclassmen... Yui will be there, Kairi, and Tsuki? I'll have to double check..."
"I'll try to look my very best tomorrow, I don't want to lose." He smiled, patting your head. "Hm? Lose to who? Your brother?" You asked as he pulled back his arm.
""I'll see you tomorrow night, (Y/N). And this is the last goodbye as friends."
