Circumvent

Chapter 8

Luke wraps his arm around me and helps me get to the dining hall. I sit down and he goes to get both of us food. Evan comes and sits across from me.

"Thank you." I say to him and manage a weak smile.

"For what?" he asks.

"You know, saving my life and everything."

"No problem." he says nonchalantly.

Luke comes back with food and sits beside. Siren and Key walk in, hands interlocked, and sit down at out table.

"Did I miss anything?" I ask Siren.

"This is my boyfriend." Siren says smiling at Key.

We eat lunch and then go back into the training room.

"Okay everyone, listen up! I need my group and Abbi's group to come over here." Logan, Caitlyn, Maddie, and three other teenagers come over towards us. "This is Sade and Sloane. They're twins. Noah and Rebecca's younger sisters." Luke introduces me to the twins. They look almost exactly alike, their blonde hair both pulled back in a high ponytail, their blue eyes bright with anticipation. "And this is Andrew." Luke says, pointing to the other boy in his group.

We lead them over to punching backs and start showing them different techniques. We spend the next few hours doing this and then have them fight against each other.

"Good job. Now we will have you fight against each other. Luke has decided who you will be fighting against." I say to my group.

"Okay. We'll have Logan against Caitlyn, Maddie against Sade, Andrew against Sloane."

I see Sloane stare at the ground. Andrew just stares at her, his mind somewhere else. "You paired the two of them up for a reason, didn't you?"

"I noticed the way Andrew looks at her the first five minutes of training."

Four walks over towards us. "If any of them are getting too hurt, then stop them."

"Aww, Tobias doesn't want them to get hurt." I say smiling. "He does have a soft side."

"Shut up."
