Dick POV
I woke up in my new room. At first I thought I was supposed to be in my room in the mountain and got nervous. Then the night prior came back to me.
"Bat kids . . ." I think these were new people. And I am not very good with people in general. What was I supposed to do with them. They were all older then me. I don't know if I'll have anything in common with them, other then there hero's too.
A knock on my door pulled me out of my thoughts. I was sill squished in between the wall and the dresser. I got out and went to the door. The old man, Alfred was his name, stood their. A kind smile on his face.
"Good morning Master Richard. Breakfast is ready downstairs. Please wash up and come down." The man said.
"Ok." I smile. He walked away and I close the door. I walked into the bathroom and take a good shower. I don't think I've had a shower in a couple of days. I didn't shower when I was on my own, for obvious reasons. Wally continuously bombards me to stay clean. I mean I brushed my teeth, found a dollar store stole a tooth brush and stuff. But showers I'd didn't get many of those.
But I took a shower, brushed my teeth, the usual. Stepped outside and grabbed the best clothes I could find. Which were very, very nice in my opinion. I stepped out and walked down stairs. I heard voices in a room and assumed it was the kitchen/dining room.
I walked in and all eyes turned to me. They stared me up and down. The other children were dressed in very nice clothing. Just a step down from a shirt and tie. Except the one named Jason. He was wearing some brown jacket and t-shirt. And Bruce and Alfred were actually wearing a suit and tie.
"Master Richard, would you mind changing into some nicer clothes?" Alfred said. I looked down at myself. I thought I looked good.
"These are my nice clothes." I said, kind of questioningly. "I'm ready to see the queen of England." I added. The older children snickered at that. I looked at them very confused. They saw it and burst out laughing.
"We will definitely have to take you shopping then Master Richard." Alfred informed. I groaned at the thought of shopping again. But sat down to eat. Eating three times a day was still a new thing to me. Even at the mountain I hardly ever ate. I ate breakfast, and occasionally dinner. Never lunch though. My stomach got used to food almost twice a week. So eating once a day was still hard.
I ate my food either way. The table was silent each of them silently watching me. I payed it no mind though. I finished eating and went to rinse my plate off in the sink. I was about to got back upstairs to my room when Bruce stopped me.
"Hey Dick." He said. I turned towards him awaiting whatever he had to tell me. "I would like you to get to know the other boys better. So I thought you could go to the fair nearby." My eyes lit up at the mention of the fair. My circus had often paired up with them. I never got to play though because no one could take me because they were always preforming. But then I remembered how crowded they were.
Bruce noticed my change in expression. "It's not a very big fair day. It shouldn't be to crowded." Oh course he knew what I'd be worried about. I nod my head.
"So when am I going them?" I asked.
"Today. After we go get you some more clothes."
"Do I really need more clothes?" I asked, I really didn't want to go shopping again.
"Yes Dick, you need more clothes. I don't see why it's such a bad thing." I groan as my response. "We're leaving to go get clothes soon so be ready." I nod then go back to my room.
