Chapter 14.

Pen.

Even though I wasn't close to either of them, I hugged them tightly, tearing up.

I wasn't alone.

"Are you alright?" Saw asked, breaking up the hug.
"No. I haven't been alright for a long, long time." I felt as if all emotion was drained from me.
"We're listening." There was concern in Clock's voice.
I explained my situation to them.

I explained everything.

Every.

Single.

Thing.

They had tears in their eyes when I'd finished. I didn't take note of when they started getting emotional because I'd been crying myself.

"Hey," Saw put her hand on my shoulder. "This isn't your fault. It's Liy's. I hope you know that. Even if it just us few survivors left, we'll get everyone back."
"Yeah. And on the bright side, we're all together now. And we will find a way out of here. We will fix everything, I promise." Clock added, forcing a smile.
I shuddered, wiping my eyes. "You're right... we... we have to stay positive..."
"From the way you're talking, I can tell that's going to be very difficult for you. Luckily enough, that robot convinced me to come back and help you. Yes, I can betray Liy." the shadow's voice echoed through the room.
"B-But... I didn't trust you? Why... Why are you back!?" I looked around, trying to locate it.
"Pen, you know this guy?" Clock asked.
I was going to reply but the room went from dark black to bright white. It blinded us. The shadow rested its arm on Clock's head. "Small time teller, Pen and I have had our interactions. Now, who are you?"
"Don't hurt them," I responded for them. "Their names are Clock and Saw. They've been excluded from bfb... I mean... were. They're helping me to get things back to how they were."
"Ah," the thing laughed. "That won't happen. Nothing can be reversed."
"What? Why not?" Saw questioned, anger and curiosity in her tone.
"Look, little grey zigzag, I may be able to betray Liy but I cannot break her wish. I'm sorry."
I despised the way it had names for everyone.
But that was irrelevant.
What did Liy wish for?!
"She wished for something? Tell us what." Saw's voice became demanding.
"It won't snap, Saw. It doesn't break promises." I could feel the defeat in my words.
"Correct. But I can do this." It formed illusions around us. Death P.A.C.T, Bleh and The Losers surrounded us. I knew they weren't real and it was only a matter of seconds before they did too.

All I wanted is for it to be real.

I wanted this whole thing to just go away.

The shadow left us unexpectedly, the last thing it stated was "Wait here."

Now we were alone together.

"So, this is where guys went when Four killed you?" I asked, trying to make an icebreaker.
"Yeah." They both agreed. "How long have you been here?"
"I've lost track. Gosh, its torturous staying here."
"Sure is."
