Things between Ben and Rey improved over the next two weeks. He limited the time he spent training and joined Rey occasionally for mediation. He even helped her out with the Falcon from time to time.

Ben tinkered under the belly of the Falcon, trying to rewire the calcinators. Chewy exited the ship, roaring to him that he was going to go on a supply run.

"I don't think Wookiee Cookies count as supplies Chewy." Ben said smirking. Chewy grumbled at him.

"I don't need anything from the market, thanks." Ben responded. Chewy growled a bit.

"No. I haven't asked." Ben said. "Mind your own business."

Chewy shrugged and grabbed a supply crate from under the Falcon and strode off the landing pad.

Ben yanked hard on the calcinator, tearing it away from the frayed wires. How Rey found enjoyment from these tedious repairs, he had no idea. Ben set the calcinator on a nearby crate and went to work on replacing the wires.

This was one of the first things Rey had taught him about ship maintenance. Funny enough, it was the same task he had often watched Han perform when he was a boy. It's how he learned some of his fathers favorite curse words. Curse words he began to use, uttering them when upset. This of course led to punishments issued on behalf of his mother.

Speaking of his mother, she was making her way across the landing pad from the apartment. Her heavy dress and cape lightly billowed in the breeze high atop the cityscape.

"Chewy said you were out here." Leia said as she approached.

"Mmm." Ben replied, pinching wires together with one hand, bonding tape in the other.

"It's strange. Seeing you out here." Leia said, gazing up at the Falcon. She gave a small sigh.

"Where is Rey?"

"Meditating with Luke." Ben speaking around the strip of bonding tape he held between his teeth.

"Ah." Leia said.

Ben eyed his mother as he removed the tape from his mouth, reaching for the other half of the wires. Leia had folded her hands neatly in front of her. He rolled his eyes. He knew this stance all too well. This was her 'lecture' stance.

"You obviously want something." He said to her. "Go on. What did I do this time?" He asked in an annoyed tone. Leia frowned.

"I just wanted to talk to you. That's all."

Ben frowned in response.

"You and Rey seem to be getting along better." Leia observed. "Luke told me you two had a fight while I was gone?"

"That was weeks ago. We're fine mother."

"Good." Leia said, smiling. "And you haven't been locking Threepio in anymore supply closets?"

Ben looked guilty for a brief second.

"No mother." Ben replied.

Leia took a step closer to Ben.

"Now Ben... I like to consider myself a bit of an old fashioned woman..." Leia started.

Ben snorted.
