His point of view.
It had been at least an hour or two since the odd girl woke up, supposedly named Grace.
She was such a happy and free girl to what looked like it. She was now currently playing mario kart on the wii with Ashton and Harry.
She threw her head back in laughter every once and a while, just like Fran would. I felt my stomach retch of guilt and sadness emotions flooding back but I pushed the horrid thoughts out of my head. I had to move on, for her sake.
I had hardly spoken since Grace had waken. For as lovely and beautiful as she seemed, I got this strange gut feeling I'd seen her before, somewhere?
I don't know, I might just be going crazy.
'How did a GIRL BEAT ME?' Ashton yelled chucking his consular at the ground annoyed. Then his face widened.
'You beat me.' He looked at Grace impressively. 'Something a girl has never yet to accomplish, congratulations Grace.' He shook her hand smiling.
'Because you never have girls to compete with.' Harry whispered under his breath and that I chuckled to.
Graces eyes flickered to mine for what felt like a millisecond probably realising I was still present in the room. She shifted around awkwardly. Maybe she got an awkward vibe from me too?
After negotiating with Mrs Irwin, she insisted Grace and I stay for dinner and then she would take Grace home after. I didn't have anything else better to do so why not?
'Have you texted your parents that you're alright?' I muttered quietly to the girl.
'Um, yeah. I don't think they would care anyway they're on holidays so they weren't looking for me or anything.' She says attempting to smile.
'Oh.' Was all I replied.
God dammit Luke, you're so damn awkward.
'Do you live around here?' I ask out of the blue.
'Um yeah, I go to your school, I'm a year under you. We've had the same chemistry and history class for a year now.' She plays with her hands while looking at the ground uncomfortable.
I felt terrible, I never took note of her, I mean no effence taken but I never really noticed anyone at school at all after the accident.
I never knew if the people that talked to me were just there because they actually cared or because it was the new gossip and now they suddenly felt the need to talk to me after 12 years of school together.
Her long brown hair knotted in a few places and she looked just as ruined as I had been.
'Oh yeah I remember you now.' Even though I didn't one bit.
She nodded and walked back into the kitchen offering help with the cooking. I could tell Mrs Irwin loved her already.
I went back into the lounge room and took a seat next to Ashton and I ran a hand through my ruffled hair.
'Hey, you alright?.' Ashton asked.
'Fine.' I muffled. 'She is hot.' I admit smirking slightly.
Ashton just chuckles.
'Ewe!' Harry squealed overhearing my choice of words.
'Dinners ready!' I heard Mrs Irwin yell.
