6. Double Trouble

NATASHA POV:
When we all head to the kitchen for dinner, Bucky and our new arrivals are nowhere to be seen, I ask Cap "Where are they?" "Buck's room, I checked on them already and I'm taking their dinner up, when it's ready." Like he said, as soon as dinner is ready he grabs 2 plates, he's staring at the other one, clearly trying to decide if he should come back or juggle it, I pick it up "I'll help you." We make our way to Buck's room, I knock on the door "Yeah!" I open it and pass the first woman a plate of food, she thanks me, Cap hands the others over and we head towards the door.

Wait, they don't have any clothes or anything, do they?

I turn on my heel "After dinner I'll come back and we can find some clothes for you from my closet, until we can get you some of your own." Bucky nods "Thanks Natasha."

After dinner I take Aala to my room, Neve wanted to stay with her dad, so the pair of us search through my clothes. Once we have a bundle that'll fit them both, we take them back to Buck's room and I head to my own room for the night. The next morning, I do my usual training, have my shower and head to the kitchen, when I get there both girls are sitting at the island, talking and laughing.

Good to know they're feeling comfortable here.

It takes a while before they learn to trust us, but with the help of their dad, they try their best. Clint and Neve would have competitions, Clint with his arrows, Neve shooting ice. Aala would train with her dad and Cap, since they're all super soldiers, she would also heal us when we'd return from missions injured. The tower became more crowded, but it didn't bother any of us, they moved out of Bucky's room after a few days and moved into a room together. They're inseparable, you train with one, the other will sit and watch, they have such a close bond, no wonder their shared codename is Gemini. After a few weeks of being on the team, they even started going on missions with us, we tried not to put them in too much danger, since they're still so young.

BUCKY POV:
The rest of the Avengers are out on a group mission, my daughters decided it would be best to stay behind since it's a HYDRA mission, so I've stayed too. The rest of the team have gone to a HYDRA research base in Sokovia, in Eastern Europe. We're sitting around talking, when Maria Hill escorts an unfamiliar woman into the living room "This is Dr Helen Cho, she's going to be working in the lab, Barton's gotten himself injured." Aala gets up "I can heal him." "It's a gunshot wound, the bullet will need to be removed first and I hear it's pretty bad." I nod and they get back in the elevator.

I hope everyone else is alright.

After a while, the elevator is alive again, so we get up and as soon as it stops, I call for it. We arrive at the lab where everyone's hanging around, Barton is laying down, the Doctor tending to him. As we walk in, we hear Maria Hill and Steve speaking, he asks a question which confuses me "The two enhanced?" "Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, twins. Orphaned at 10 when a shell collapsed their apartment building. Sokovia's had a rough history, it's nowhere special but it's on the way to everywhere special." "Their abilities?" Aala speaks up, making her presence known "He's got increased metabolism and improved thermal homeostasis. Her thing is neural electric interfacing, telekinesis, mental manipulation."

How the hell does she know that?

We all look at her funny, Neve simplifies the sentence "He's fast and she's weird." She then turns to her sister "I'm surprised you remembered that mouthful." Aala shrugs, Steve speaks "You two know them?" "We were moved there for a little while, had to help them adjust to their abilities." "Well, they're going to show up again, what else do you know about them?" "They volunteered for the experiments."

It's nuts!

We head back to the living room so they can tell us about the twins.
