Chapter 6: Lazy Day With You

A rooster crowing in the morning wakes Emily up. She blinks her eyes open and finds Norman gazing at her with pure love in his eyes. Kissing her, he holds her close to him and feels his heart beat faster. She rolls onto her stomach and places her one hand on his chest and she kisses his jaw. She snuggles close to him he keeps placing small kisses on her head.

"Morning Love." She loves that he called her that.

"Oh Norman." Their kissing turns into a small make out session. She lays on top of him and he holds her close with his hands on her ass. Scooting against his already grown erection, Norman moans deep in his throat. They continue their moment of passion, until they hear a knock at the door.

Pulling away from each other, Emily covers her naked body under the blanket and Norman summons them in.

"Oh sorry dear. Just wanted ya to know that Breakfast is ready down stairs for ya both." Hazel peeks her head in.

"Thank you so much Hazel. We'll be right down." Hazel leaves and both fall back to the bed. "Emmy, since we have nothing planned for today, ya wanna have a lazy day with me?"

"Of course. I love spending time with you." She leans over and kisses him and then goes to the bathroom as he prepares to get dressed. Norman wasn't a stranger to redressing in yesterday's clothes. He used to do after leaving a girls place while she slept. Sure, it was a dick move, but he was young and selfish. Now putting on his clothes from yesterday make him feel wonderful, because he's with Emily.

Coming out of the bathroom, Em gets redressed and they head downstairs.

The breakfast on the table looks delicious. A home cooked meal consisting of eggs, toast, pancakes, oatmeal, sausage, bacon, milk, orange juice, and coffee. The aroma seems too good to pass up. They eat and chatter with Hazel and Leo about the 'good ole' days, when candy was a nickle, Television was corrupted, and gas was 1.90 on the worst of days.

Emily can't help but imagine a life in black and white like I Love Lucy. She cooking dinners awaiting him to come home. Norman picking her up through the door and kissing her while spinning. Sitting in a parlor watching the news while a fire roared and Bonnie slept and Mingus did his homework. Oh how she imagined the happy life in a quant house full of love and good morals.

"Em?"

"Oh sorry. What did you say?" She tugs herself from the dream as Norman has a hand on her arm and is looking in her blank eyes.

"I asked if you wanted to do some horse riding today?"

"Oh... of course, but, I'll need a change of clothes..."

"No problem dear. I used to be yer size when I was much younger. Probably still have a pair of over alls, boots and a shirt. And I'm sure Leo has something for you Mark." Hazel stands and heads to her room on the first floor before anyone can attest.

Coming back she places black denim jeans that are slightly faded by the knees, a pair of cowboy boots (black with red stitching), and a white collared long sleeve cotton shirt in Normans hands. To Emily she hands her Grey over alls with a fade one the knees also, brown cowgirl boots, and a red tee shirt.

"Now you two go get dressed and meet Leo in the barn. He'll set ya up with two of our best horses." Smiling wide at them, Hazel takes their dirty dishes and goes to work with her chores.

After getting dressed, Norman and Emily head to the barn, both looking very sexy in each other's eyes. Leo comes out holding the reins of two horses. Handing the lead of a Grey Lipizzaner mare with a black mane and tail, to Emily, he hands the lead of a Black Frisian gelding to Norman.

"This here is Giselle. And this here is Chance. Both pretty fine horses. Defiantly know their stuff. Shouldn't have a problem with em. There are riding trails in the woods and stuff. Take em where ya like. Have wells on the way so ya can water em. Have fun you two kids." Leo leaves and Emily and Norman saddle up and head on the trails.

Emily can't believe she's on a horse. It's been... well years. Norman looks like a natural though. The way he carries himself Chance looks naturally cow boyish. They head through the woods in silence and catch each other's smiles and such as they go.

"Ya know. I've really enjoyed being with you these past few days." Norman kicks off the conversation.

"Me too. I feel great about all of this."

"Can you answer a question for me? And that wasn't the question so don't try to get out of it." They laugh cause he knows he would've pulled that one.

"Sure."

"If I asked you to be my girlfriend... would you deny me?" Emily slows her horse down. Was he really asking her out? Out of anyone he could have in the world, he picks her? She realizes she takes too long to answer and he starts frowning. "Never mind. Just too... much."

"No. It's fine. I was thinking... why would you want me?"

"You answer my question with a question? I feel like that's against the rules."

"Fine, I'll make you a deal. First one up to the first check point gets their question answered. So is that the question you want answered cause you can pick another one." Norman looks at her intently.

"If I win, I'll ask you a different question."

"Okay. Them I guess I won't tell you my new question either." Out of all the years knowing each other, hanging out, and just purely having fun, Emily needed to ask him that perfect question. She can't just waste it.

Norman feels the same way. He loves Emily. Would do anything for her. But what could he possibly ask her that would give him any satisfaction.

"On our marks get set. Go!" They bolt. Galloping at full speed neck and neck. Norman starts to pull ahead. As he feels himself getting closer up the hill and around the bed, he turns to see how far ahead he is when... WACK!

His forehead hits a low hanging branch and flips off the back of Chance, who is full speed galloping. Emily gasps and slows Giselle down. She jumps off her horse and notices chance stopped a few feet ahead and is coming back to see the commotion.

"Oh my God! Norman!" Kneels by him, she takes his head in her lap. His eyes take a few seconds before he opens them. "Oh my God! Are you okay? Say something. Please!"

"I think I win... Chance made it over the line..." The wind had been knocked out of him, but his humor is still intact. Emily laughs and a few tears prick up out of worriment.

"You jackass! How's yer head?" She touches it and sees a very small cut from bark, by his left temple.

"It hurts." She bends forward and kisses it. She scoots his head closer to her stomach and just keeps kissing. Grabbing her chin, that's upside down to him, he kisses her lips. After letting go, he looks her deeps in her eyes.

"I guess you can ask yer question, since you got hurt." She smiles at him and he looks forward. There's so many questions he wants to ask, but the one he really wants answered, he feels he should wait to ask later.

"Can I ask you it some other time. I need to sit on it a while. Gather more data..."

"Yer such a jerk!" She play smacks his chest and he just grabs her hand and kisses her palm.

"I know. Let's get up and finish our ride."

"You sure yer feeling up to it?"

"Yup." He stands up with her help an helps her mount Giselle with a hand on Emily's ass. He then walks over and gets on chance. They head on through the trails until they loop back to the barn around 5:00.

Emily's heart is pounding through her chest. Why didn't he ask her his question? Maybe he doesn't want to date her any more. Whatever it is, she just hopes it's a fair question she can answer.
