Chapter 7: A Romantic Dinner

As Emily gets redressed in her outfit from last night, Hazel cleans up Norman's head. She's been giving him looks ever since they got there. Made comments about them being a lovely couple, and made them both feel at home. Putting a bandaid on his temple, Hazel sits back against the chair as Norman lets a small smile creep on his face at the thought of Emily.

"You really love her don't you?" She gives him a look his mother would've given him. A look of God's Honest Truth and hope.

"Yeah, but we're not even dating. We just...ya know." She gives him a disappointed face and he looks at his hands in his lap. "We've been friends four almost 6 years now. She knows my dating life and I know hers. It's just, I don't wanna date her."

"Why? You love her. Why not be with her?" Hazel doesn't understand the mindset of Norman at this moment.

"Because I don't want to date her... I want to..." Emily and Leo come in laughing and try to stop before getting too carried away.

"Haha, that's not what was supposed to happen." Leo bellows out and then stops and smiles at Norman and Hazel. "Emily was telling me about yer dart game in the show. Haha not to good still are ya?"

"No Leo. Still suck pretty bad at darts." Hazel sits there and an idea pings into her head.

"Mark. Why don't you get ready for dinner. Leo can start making it and I'll just help Emily with a few things." Leo heads to the kitchen without question and Norman heads upstairs and gets a shower and dressed. "Now come along dear. I'll fix yer hair and make up."

She leads her into her and Leo's room an sits her in front of her vanity mirror. Heating up her curling iron, Hazel plays with Emily long beautiful blonde hair.

"Yer very beautiful you know?" Emily blushes as Hazel starts curling her hair.

"Thank you. I just love yer home. You and Leo are so nice. I'm so glad Norman brought me here." She smiles and Hazel finishes her hair and starts on her make up.

"He loves you, you know. Out of everyone couple who's ever come through our doors, only has he ever looked at you with the love casted eyes. He truly loves you and I see why. You're beautiful and sweet." Emily can feel her body shake slightly. Sure he told her last night he loved her after making slow sweet love to her, but that could be a in the moment love. He hasn't said it since. He hasn't asked her his question. Hasn't once asked her to be his or anything along those lines.

"I don't know if he loves me or just loves being with someone different for a change." Burning desires. That's what she figures has come over Norman. Not true love. Not love and passion for her. Her body maybe, but not for her.

"Oh sweetie, he loves you. I know it. He's told me. And even if he didn't, I can still see it."

"He told you he loved me?" Emily gazes into Hazel's eyes in the mirror. Hazel quickly applies lipstick to Em an then steps back seeing how beautiful she is.

"Yes. Admitted it right to me and ya know, not many men have the full to do that." Emily turns in her seat. "I'd figure this out over dinner. The longer you wait the harder it's gonna be for both of you to. Bring it up."

Hazel leaves an prepares the dining room for a romantic dinner. Norman gets dressed and walks into the candle lit dining room, where soft piano music is playing. He sits in his hair and waits for Emily to come in. When she does, he stands beside her seat and is gaping at how beautiful she is. Has always been. Always will be.

She stands beside him and he takes her hand in his and kisses the back of her hand. He helps her into her seat and kisses the top of her head before going to sit across from her. Hazel brings out a two plates of spaghetti, a side of meat balls and two different sauces- Alfredo and regular marinara. He spoons what they want on their noodles, adds a basket of bread sticks on the table and pours them each a glass of wine before leaving them the bottle and exiting the room.

"You look gorgeous." Emily blushes and looks away. He makes the butterflies in her stomach reappear.

"Thank you. You look very handsome." He leans forward and kisses her hand again. As they eat dinner, Norman can only think about her. Her eyes. Lips. Body. Mind. Heart. Everything. He wants her so badly.

They talk over mindless things until the food is gone and their second glass of wine is empty. Norman stands and goes to Emily's side. She looks up at him with sparkling questioning eyes.

"May I have this dance." He places his hand out and she slowly takes it. He leads her to the open parlor room, where they dance on the wooden floor. They start out in a stance for waltzing, but soon it turns into Emily pulled close into his arms with her head on his chest under his chin and his one hand on her shoulder blades and the other holding her hand an a 90• angle. He holds her close and takes her in. Hazel and Leo watch from the kitchen door way and swoon over their cuteness and love.

As the song turns into a beautiful orchestra, Emily looks up at Norman and he plants a kiss on her lips. Letting go of her hand, he cradles the side of her face with it and gently and romantically kisses her back. Letting go, he looks down at her and can't help but feel over whelmed with desire and love. He gets on one knee an Emily is in shock. He holds onto her one hand and looks up at her.

"Norman..."

"Emmy, I love you so much. And I've found the question I want to ask." He reaches in his pocket and pulls out an old fashioned ring box. Opening it with one hand, Emily's eyes pop at the sight of a Vintage Rosette engagement ring- cost $2,390. She covers her mouth with her free right hand and almost starts crying. "Will you marry me?"

Leo and Hazel wait in anticipation. Emily just looks at the ring and then drops the her knees in front of Norman. He tries to hide his confused face.

"Yes." She nearly whispers it with tears of joy coming from her eyes.

"Yes?" Norman says a little louder.

"Yes, Norman! Yes." She leans in and wraps her arms around him and kisses his lips. When she pulls back he slips the ring on her finger and she gazes at it and then kisses him again. Leo and Hazel jump up and hug as they see Norman an Emily embrace each other.

He helps her up and they call for a cab, because they have a busy day tomorrow. Friday is the last day of Comic Con, Emily's concert, and Norman wants to just be with her all day.

They share a few laughs and hugs with Leo and Hazel before leaving in their cab. In the cab, he kisses her with tender lips and she knows he truly wants her. She pulls back as they near the city.

"Norman can I ask you a question?"

"Of course Princess." He kisses her neck and she tries to stay focused.

"Where'd you get that beautiful ring?" He kisses her again an then looks her deep in her ocean eyes.

"Leo pulled me aside before dinner. Said that my dad gave it to him for me. Probably figured if I was ever gonna come back and had a girl with me, it was true love and I'd need it. I'm glad my dad knew me so well. It was his mother's ring. I just am glad I have you to give it too." She kisses him and they both look at the ring on her left ring finger. "It's beautiful... just like you, Emmy. Just like you."

"I love you Norman." She lays her head on his shoulder and he kisses the top I it.

"I love you even more Emily. So much more, Baby girl."
