Chapter 10: Split The Difference
His home is quiet. Mingus isn't home yet and he has the whole thing to himself. He finds it almost pointless to have a big home if it's only him half the time. Norman misses her. He misses holding Emily at night. Kissing her. It's like all they had was a Comic Con fling. What's so great about New York anyway? She's only there for like two or three months and then is on the move between Georgia and touring.
His phone goes off and he picks up without looking at it.
"Hello?"
"That's warm and welcoming." He perks up to the sound of her sweet melodic voice.
"Baby Girl! How I've missed you so." They haven't seen each other in over two months. Mainly because of his premier for Air. He sits on his couch and waits to listen to her story of the day.
"Aw, Norman. I've missed you too much."
"Oh, Princess. What's up?"
"I've been filming all day. I thought you would be too, but I guess they want to drive us insane." They both laugh at the thought of the directors and writers keeping them apart.
"Sorry sunshine. I'm bored in L.A."
"What a coincidence, I'm bored sitting on this porch." Norman sits up and feels strange.
"What porch? Did they add a new set?"
"No. This porch is modern, with nice trees out front and a sweet name on the mail box. Nice Porsche out front and motorcycle..." It hits him. He goes out the back deck, Walking around the side of the house he can see her perched on the railing facing the door. He knows she's waiting for him to come out the door. Sneaking down in front she goes on about the house, until he snatches her by her waist and pulls her down into his arms off the porch. "No fair!"
Kissing her, he feels his joy come rushing back to his face.
"God I've missed you. I thought you were in Georgia?"
"No. I'm here."
"You lied to me? How can I trust you when you lie. Oh the shame of it." He pretends to be upset, but starts cracking up at himself.
"I wanted to surprise you! Are you surprised?" Kissing her again he walks her up and into the house.
"Of course! Come, let's converse over a movie and sex."
"Better yet forget the movie and conversing. Just give me all the helpings of sex I can get." She wraps her arms around him and they go at it like rabbits.
After five different positions of sex, both finally lay down and rest on Norman's living room floor. They had started in his bedroom, but soon made tier rounds to the bathroom, the kitchen, the pool table, and lastly the living room. He cradles her head on his chest and she can't help but feel beat finally.
"You win... no more. I can't take another round. Or any other position for today. I can't feel anything below my belly button." she takes deep breaths and try to focus on the ceiling fan. Neither have the energy to get up, let alone, make out.
"Me? You were the one who got in my shower with me after the first time!"
"The kitchen was your fault!"
"You urged me in the pool room."
"And it was you who brought us to the living room. Norman!" They both burst out laughing. Never in their lives have they ever had rounds of sex like in boxing.
"Okay so it's basically a tie..."
"I don't think so." she finally sits up, all naked and hair a mess. She looks down at him and smiles as he rubs his hand on her smooth soft hip.
